On Wednesday, January 6, the Himura_gumi day will change to Sunday, February 5, 1882.

General Premise:

There is a plot by a group intent on creating chaos... (The details of this group will be revealed in some of the beginning threads, and in a future OOC post.) A second group will take advantage of the ensuing mayhem to achieve a few goals of their own...all of this will include fire and kidnapping.

Several possible threads were mentioned:

--Kenshin leaves Kenji at Akabeko and goes to help fight some fires.

--The Akabeko catches on fire and Tokio and Tae are trapped, but eventually saved by Hiko.

--Tsubame escapes out the front door of a burning Akabeko, taking Kenji and Takagi Tsuyoshi with her, only to be napped along with the young ones.

--Eiji and Yahiko, hung over from a night in Yoshiwara, have some role in all of this mayhem, which their players will have to further define.

Please put up any Jan 8, 1882 placeholders by Tues, Jan 5th. The Himura_gumi time line will skip ahead 4 weeks at about 3 am EST on Wed, Jan 6th.

I hope to have a loose summary of a plot arc premise posted in ooc and emailed to all of you by then. It will have to do with a group of fanatics, fires, and some pirates, as we discussed in the two chats. Those who made it to chat on Jan 3rd even came up with some thread ideas.

I forgot to mention at chat that you should try to put up any January 8th placeholders this week, so we can move the game ahead as soon as possible after our January 3rd group chat.

The beginning of a new year is usually the time when people make resolutions. The Gumi Mods are no different. Our resolution for the new year is to encourage all the players to post at least once a week in one of their threads. (This will start once we do the time skip.) We will have a 'standard' message that we will email you, if we notice that you didn't write at least one post the previous week. Everyone will recieve exactly the same reminder. It will be something like:

"You forgot to post to HG last week. Please remember that you need to do one post in at least one of your threads every week to help keep the game moving forward. Please post as soon as possible. Thanks for your prompt attention."

Wishing all of you a happy and safe new year, and see you at chat on Jan 3rd if you are free!

Thanks to everyone who was able to attend tonight's chat. It was suggested that we skip ahead in time about a month. (If you weren't there tonight to give your opinion about how far to skip ahead, please email one of the mods.)

Sev suggested an overall plot arc, and everyone was given the 'homework' to try to come up with some specific ideas about it. The mods really appreciated all of your comments and ideas. Hi Again!

I was hoping to have the day changed by now to Jan 8th. (Thank you to those who posted placeholders for Jan 7th.) Jan 8th will be the last day of the snow storm sequence for those of you who want to do another day of 'snow meltdown' action.

I will be sending another email soon to see how far ahead we should skip, as the general consensus was to skip ahead in the game. This should probably be discussed in a chat, but the way things are going time-wise, I am going to email everyone for their opinion first. Hopefully, more players will have time to thread after the holiday rush, or during vacation for those who are students.

Hey everyone.

There's lots of stuff going on in my life, where it makes it difficult for me to both remember and find the time to participate in our little RP community. I'm hopeful that in a few months things might lighten up (but there's no guarantee), but in the meantime I hate to leave folks hanging.

Obviously we want to see forward momentum with stories and plots, and I want to do what's best for the community. This is a place where we all play in the sandbox. :) If that means Misao goes on hiatus for a while, or if I should go ahead and hang up her obi now so you have a chance to find someone who can devote time to playing her... please let me know what you the moderators and players feel would be best. But I definitely don't foresee me being available until at the earliest after the start of the new year.

Things are piling up for me as school, work, and my volunteering activites kick it into high gear. So my posting may be limited to once a week. I'll let everyone know if I have to take a week off.

As a very proud mother I am pleased to announce that Eiji aka Tatsuo, my wonderful son gave the lovely Tsubame-san her first 'in game' smooch kiss!

This happened in a mid-day January 5th thread. The competition That Yahiko person did not manage to do this until the evening of January 6th!

I'm in such a lovey-dovey mood right now, which is why I made this AMV.

As sad as one of their nights together turned out Yahiko feels bad, just so you know, I enjoyed reading about Sanosuke and Megumi's relationship. And after what dear Jenn posted for Yahiko and Tsubame, I thought I should finish my tribute AMV. After Sharon viewed it, she suggested I put it up here for all to see.

I've just been loving reading about two very sweet characters and thought, in celebration of certain long awaited disclosures, that a picture was in order.

(Jupiter Images for couple design / Modified in .netPaint (several filters) daisies were done in watercolor, then modified in ,netPaint and then everything was put together in pain and word) I am still not even close to being coherent when it comes to digital art, but I am working on it, so I hope that you enjoy. ^_^

Sorry I've been so non-available as of late, but these summer classes have been intense. This next week and a half will be taken up my finals and papers, but then, after that, sweet freedom.

So after a week and a half, I expect to be able to return to a more regular posting frequency.
