Personally I'm not at all convinced these "poems" belong in a community called greatpoets, but I'll just chalk it up to the pure subjectivity of it all. Different strokes make the cookie crumble, or something to that effect.

I see this community as a general education about poetry; what I see as good and bad poetry.

I think this poem is simplistic, nobrainer trash, and a one trick gig, but hey, I'm not saying I'm ruler-of-the-universe right.

No, this is not a great poem, or even a very funny joke. But it does come from a book that won the Pulitizer Prize for poetry in 1992. Tate certainly qualifies as a "great" poet, whatever that means.
