You probably joined the Gravitation fandom for love of the anime or the manga, and its characters. Since then, you've likely found reasons to hate (or at least become seriously annoyed with) the fandom or some of its writers. Here is the place to vent those frustrations!

Gather those Mary Sues, those horribly over-done scenarios, those writers who cannot tell the difference between accept from except, and any other pet peeves of fandom or fanfiction and be welcome to rant about it here!

This Community has been established to:

Post generalized fanfic abuse (Mary Sues, poor spelling/grammar, etc.)

Post specific fanfic abuse (with a link to the story and reasons for its BADfic qualifications)

Post fandom or fanfic pet peeves

Meet the president of this community, premiere romance novelist and literary critic, Yuki Eiri.

He is blatant in his criticisms, just like we are.

He may use what some may consider harsh language, just like we do.

He tells the truth, just like we do.

He gives his opinion, like we do.

He is a stickler for correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, story arc, characters who are in character, good story-telling and all the tools used to make a successful piece of fiction, just like we are.

The moderators here actually WANT people to become better writers. The only way to become a better writer is to understand the mechanics of writing, the ways to structure a story, how to use point-of-view successfully, what to do to keep established characters in-character and many other aspects of the writing craft.

First, thanks to

fanficrants for inspiration. Their rules are the basis for our rules here.

First and foremost, this is a RANT community, meaning you will probably bump into some harsh commentary here about both general Gravitation BADfic finds and specific stories being highlighted as BADfic.

This community is not designed to be a NICE place. Truths will be told, usually with a lot of snarling and and a touch of venom. At the same time, this is not a place to pursue a vendetta against a writer because you do not like him/her personally.

Understand, the moderators here LOVE and respect Gravitation and get frustrated when their number one chosen fandom is being torn to shreds by fanfic written without thought about the characters' already established motivations, hopes and dreams and yes, CHARACTER.

Are you offended by this? Well then, perhaps you need to go elsewhere.

For the purposes of space and to respect other people's Friends Lists, please put long posts behind the lj cut feature.

Please do not promote other communities here.

Please do not make another post to answer questions from a previous post. Please reply in your original post.

Whenever you point out BADfics to this community, please do not post a link and just say "This Sucks!" without a viable explanation of why you think the fiction sucks. In other words, write a review of the fic. If you wish to post fic examples behind lj cuts, please do so, but do not post the fic in its entirety here. Please post a link to the story.
