| About: | I admire your bravery; this is no place for intellectual midgets. Permit us to introduce ourselves. We are the Grammar Nazis, an elite society of pompous, self-righteous, anal-retentive bookworms. We appreciate well-formed sentences, complete thoughts, and correct spelling. To our minds, bad grammar and spelling are signs of malicious, purposeful incompetence; we kindly request that anything you post here be free of such. Failure to comply with this most fundamental of our laws will result in the internet equivalent of a Friar's Club roast. Repeated violations will lead to your banishment. As a side note, we are not going to flame you for minor problems with sentence structure or for typographical errors; our purpose is simply to weed out the (intellectual) weaklings that have become far too abundant in other communities. This rigid stance is nothing personal. Rather, it has developed because we are tired of the headaches we get from trying to decipher the incoherent babblings of individuals that have obviously never read a book in their lives. Suggestions for the betterment of this community are appreciated. Please forward them to the maintainer. Enjoy yourselves, but be careful; a lackadaisical approach could get you into trouble... ![]() Posting Policies: 1) Do not link to personal blogs or Web sites. Instead, copy-and-paste the offensive text or use a screen capture to record this tragedy. In either case, please remove all personal information; we are not a community of trolls. 2) Commercial or highly-publicized blogs can be directly linked or mentioned in posts. If you are unsure whether a site qualifies, assume it's a personal site. Also, it's probably not a good idea to post about and identify your own company. 3) Do not flame others in your comments. Good-natured ribbing is acceptable in small amounts. I'll have no pity for the commenter who roasts another and in the process, makes an error. You reap what you sow. 4) There are two general types of posts: the "I have a question about" post and the "Look at the mistake in this sign/memorandum/commercialized blog post/newspaper headline". We exist to teach and learn from each other, as well as share sighs about the mistakes commonly accepted in the world. | |
