does anyone have any experience with Kelly Brown Douglas, John Rose, or Steven DeCaroli? I'm looking for a religion professor to be on my thesis review board, but I haven't yet had the chance to take classes in the department, so I don't know anyone at all. I'm afraid of blindly emailing and winding up with someone horrific... thoughts on any of them, anyone?

Here's the story text.
I have to admit, it's kinda cool. It's even better that it's been exported to other campuses all over the country. How did that happen, exactly?

| Knitting |
[24 Mar 2008|12:20am] |
Hey, Goucher Knitters!
It's going to be that point in the semester soon when I could really use some stress relief, so I was thinking I should take advantage of this little post-break downtime to learn how to knit. If anyone is willing to teach me, I'll repay your kindness in beer/cookies/yarn.

| Transfer |
[20 Mar 2008|11:29pm] |
I'm a Boston University freshman thinking about transferring to Goucher. I've gathered from previous posts that the school treats transfers pretty well, but I was wondering how transferring affects housing? Will I be placed in a crappy dorm because I'm a transfer? Also, can anyone tell me about the education program? At BU we have a school dedicated to teaching and you can major in it. I know at Goucher you major in the subject you want to teach, but I was wondering if anyone could give me more info?
Thanks, Mollie

| Deer Population Issue |
[11 Dec 2007|03:11pm] |
Through facebook I received a link to the following link regarding a policy adopted recently by the school regarding the deer population.
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/goucherdeer/
This is the first thing I have heard of this going on, although as a recent alumni I hear little of what goes on mostly because I don't really pay too much attention to it. I'm wondering as a concerned party if anyone can bring some light onto this issue's truth/falsity and what is actually going on. I know Goucher's administration runs surveillance on this community perhaps they might have something to add. Considering the administration's response to student outcry in the past I doubt they would change tactics based on majority response if this is true, but they do care if I choose to give as an alumni, and I can contact the alumni organizations if it is.
The first step however is to get the facts, not the rumors. Can anyone direct me to an official announcement about this?
In closing I'd like to say that over my four years at Goucher the deer population problems did seem to grow worse, especially as more of the wooded areas were cut down to make space for parking lots in the back of the campus because funds were not available to construct the original two tiered parking lot near the current location of the T which was originally planned (as told to the student government of 2003). I however never gave them any problems and they never gave me any either. Where there any recent problems which gave rise to the need for extreme measures such as bringing guns onto campus? I don't know but I'd like to find out.

| Missing Pants Ad |
[09 Dec 2007|03:29pm] |
|
I know the subject line is silly. I had pants on a hanger with a shirt and jacket that I used for a show, and I cannot find the pants. They are gray, pinstriped and quite costly suit pants. I have searched everywhere in Meyerhoff and a few other places. They were kindly loaned to me as a prop. so I hope this doesn't look extremely materialistic.
Please let me know if you find them. Email me at sarah.weissman@goucher.edu . Again, I know this is kinda funny but I would appreciate your help.

| "If you're going to drink, know what you're drinking. And know your limits." |
[09 Nov 2007|02:21pm] |
Maybe it's just me, but I find putting information about the caloric value of alcoholic drinks right inside a bathroom stall quite deplorable. Posting the information is not so much what I have a problem with, though using weight sensitivity to get your point across truly is the lowest of the low. I have a problem with the placement moreso. A bathroom stall, and the bathroom in general is not an appropriate place for that. Can we just keep that in mind for the future, please? I think a lot of people are pretty offended by it, judging by the comments on the paper itself.
I did not rip it down, nor did I write anything on it. I simply moved it out of the bathroom onto the wall outside.
I'm sure no offense or suggestion was intended. But in the future, I think it's highly important that those who put these fliers up think about the message they're sending first.

has anyone here had any experiences with the therapists on campus that they'd would be willing to share?
i've never seen a therapist before, for anything, but i've known for a while now that i should at least try it. i guess i don't know what to expect from therapy in general, but specifically therapy at goucher.
any testimonies would really, really be appreciated. i know this is a personal question-- feel free to post anonymously?
thank you so much.
