Hoping somebody here can help me out, I'm getting desperate. I have this glitter liquid eyeliner that I love. It's double ended, one side is more of a rainbow glitter and the other is just silver. The problem is that I've had it for awhile, and while I only use it when going out (and only on my upper eyelid above regular eyeliner) I'm probably flirting with blindness since it's kinda old. The name brand on it is "Karma Beauty" and I believe I got it someplace like Target. But I can't find it anywhere anymore, or even anything like it. So does anyone know of some fun glitter liquid eyeliner? Or has anyone heard of Karma Beauty? Thanks!

I have a $50 Sephora gift card I got for graduation. I really suck at makeup, I do a lot of buying products and then never using them. Can anyone recommend some good staple products to keep around my house? I have a hella big nose I'd like to draw attention away from. Also I don't like putting a lot of goopy foundation on.

Checked the memories but didn't exactly find what I'm looking for.

I want to know how to keep my eyeliner from smearing/smudging. I find that MAC Technakohl Liner and Revlon's Color Stay work best, but they still smudge after a few hours of wear on me. Anyone else have this problem?

Also I've tried liquid liner, but I always have a hard time getting it to go onto my skin dark enough.

Any help is much appreciated!

There is something I have been wondering now that winter is passed and summer is on its way.  I don't know about the rest of you, but I want to keep my pale skin.  I guess the obvious solution is to wear sunscreen, but I find that when I wear sunscreen with my makeup, my makeup looks wrong.  My face becomes like an oil slick and my makeup becomes cakey.  So I want to know how you all do it.  For those of you that wear sunscreen with your makeup, how do you do it and manage to have the appearance of flawless skin (as opposed to an oily, cakey mess)?

Just for information's sake, I use Aveeno Facial Sunscreen in SPF 70, and it is oil free.  And for makeup I use MAC studio fix powder foundation in NC20 (I wish I were more pale!).

Any and all tips are welcomed and greatly desired!

Thanks to all you lovely ladies (and gents!).

Okay.  This is something I have been thinking about for the last few days, and I thought I could make a fun post out of it.  I've been trying to come to an idea in my mind as to what "gothic makeup" is exactly.  If someone were to ask you, "What is gothic makeup?" what would you say to them?  How would you describe it to someone who is not really sure of what it is?

So here is what I want from you ladies and gents.  Describe to me what "gothic makeup" is.  And if you have pictures, please post them!

I'm just trying to make this fun, and I'm curious about what everyone else's view is of what "gothic makeup" is.

I also think part of the reason I am asking this is because I am not sure I even know what gothic makeup is exactly.  I generally just wear black eyeliner, dark shadow (such as a black smokey eye, or a neutral eye, and the odd colour), and a dark lipstick.

So please, tell me what your views are on this!

Okay.  Years ago, like in 1998, I bought a lipstick by MAC called Verushka.  It was a beautiful burgundy, blood red type lipstick.  However, being the way things are, and all good things must come to an end, MAC decided to discontinue this beautiful colour.  And now my problem is finding an equivalent colour.  Is anyone familiar with the colour Verushka, and if so, do you know of an equivalent colour that I could get (preferably by MAC) to replace it?

Or, if no one can recommend a colour by MAC to replace it, can you recommend a deep burgundy, blood red lipstick that works for you and isn't sticky?  I found a colour by Bed Head cosmetics called Passion, and it kind of works, but the lipstick is extremely sticky and does not go on smoothly because of this, so preferably nothing sticky.

Definitely open to insights and recommendations.

P.S. - And if you have a picture of you wearing the recommended lipstick, could you post it so I can see what it looks like?

Does anyone know of any good books or web sites that deal with alternative fashion? I'm not looking for sites that just sell clothes, more like alternative philosophical views on fashion (e.g. why wear black instead of colors that complement your complexion, or reasons not to wear "fashion" or traditional outfits etc.) Like an alt version of What Not To Wear or something.

Like everyone else, I need help for my costume... I know NOTHING on hair... I never really used much hair product in my life. Well, I am planning to be Mrs. Lovett. My hair can poof and curl easily like hers... but I am wondering if I should use a product to keep it poofy throughout the night and what is the best product to use for that? I want something cheap but efficient since I might not even be using the product all that much. Will cheapo White Rain do? I notice they have a dollar per bottle... of hair spray and mousse... that's another question I have... what do I use spray or mousse?? LOL, seriously, I don't know what to use? Andddd... I have thick textured hair... I am not sure if my hair would hold up with bobby pins, but I guess they would... is there any other suggestions to get around this? Lastly, does anyone know of a temporary spray in red burgundy dye I can use that works well? If not, I might just opt it out... and leave my natural hair color dark brown.... Sorry if I made typos on the way or if I'm not making any sense... I'm not fully awake. :) Thanks for any suggestions!

Okay, so this is not exactly pertaining to make-up, but I know you all can help me out.

I want to go as Siouxsie Sioux the day after tomorrow for a Halloween club night. Could anyone give me examples/pictures/links of what she would wear during her early goth period? I guess I'm thinking circa 1982, like this image: http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/4/4c/Siouxsie_New_Sounds_new_styles.jpg

There are very few images of her from the early goth period which show her entire outfit. By contrast, a great number of earlier images, from her punk period, or more recent ones, or some from the correct period which are only from the shoulders up. But not a lot that I'm looking for. Ideally, I want to create an outfit from pieces I already have, because I only came up with this idea yesterday, after a friend and I discovered a particular club night that's happening. Anyway...hopefully I can find a picture of her that has items I own, since there isn't much time to go out and buy something new, and I live out in the boonies.

And yes, I did do a plain old google image search of "siouxsie sioux," before anyone jumps on that suggestion.

Hello everyone,
I'm looking for creative suggestions for doing my eye make up for a party this weekend.
The party is a pretty big deal, and I'm the hostess...so I need to look my best.....and kinda fancy.

Usually I choose shadow color to match my lipstick, or outfit, or whatever.
I hardly have any eyebrows, and I use a pencil to draw them on/fill them in depending on my mood (rounded, pointed, etc)
I tend to put a lighter color on first at the top along my eyebrows, then I fill in the rest with whatever darker color I've chosen.
I use a liquid liner on the top and pencil on the bottom. I go pretty heavy with mascara but only on the top lashes.

But I don't want to do the same old thing. I need something more dramatic.
I'll be wearing black vinyl, black tulle, ribbons, and rhinestones.

My skin is pale, my hair is a dark burgandy, and my eyes are green, if that helps.
I'm open to suggestions....if anyone has links to pictures of well done eye makeup...please share.

Thanks!
