We're arriving a couple of days early (9/26) and are considering going to this night. Do any of you locals know anything about it? Or Club Purgatory in general? Anyone wanna go with us?

If we're not too hungover, what should we do/see in the Fort on Sunday? Is there an actual fort? :)

I'll post this interest again as we get closer to the cruise date - but I figure I'd get a feel of interest for a pre cruise dinner like what's been done in the past.

Basically, if people want to do this - then I can offer locations close to the hotel and/or port.

Feh, can't post a poll without being a paid member - well, just respond w/ a Yea or Nea :)

Cocktails, again

So, if we don't get enough cruisers to get our free cocktail party, is it feasible to purchase our own cocktail
party like we did on GC5? That seemed to work out pretty well.

Also, will we be getting "nifty travel bags" again? Cause if they are the same yellow ones...I'm good.

Belize

My guidebook says "Belize City has, deservedly, a reputation as a dangerous place." But I did just see a segment on Travel
Channel with the (insufferable) Samantha Brown, and it looked pretty good. Kind of an up close look at some of the
activities and advice "if you are claustrophobic and dark water scares you, tubing through caves wearing a light on your
forehead may not be for you." The $30 flight to Ambergis Key/San Pedro looked good, but don't know if we will have
time for that. I did like that Samantha hates the idea of snorkeling (so do I) but she was willing to get in and swim with
the (nurse) sharks. If she can do it.....

Travel planning

Quick reminders for those making travel arrangements:

The website front page says "September 28 - October 2, 2009", but the 2nd is the last day at sea. Docking is on the 3rd, so you won't make a morning flight on the 3rd. Book afternoon or plan for an extra day.

Pre- and post-cruise accomodations are easy at the Holiday Inn Express, which is about two miles from the port. Rate seem to be a bit over $100 a night, but it's shorter to the port than just the ride out the causeway in Miami or New Jersey.

We didn't get many pics in Cozumel - we were too busy enjoying the snorkeling! The waters around there are absolutely beautiful and just packed with interesting water life.

And this trip we go to Belize - it will be our first time in Central America. I'm so excited!
