About
Purpose of This Comm.:
This community was created as a place to research (and help other people understand) Batman canon in all its many forms: films, comics, cartoons, and the tv show.
In researching for fan fiction or any project, Batman-centric accuracy may not always be the case (and sometimes it is), but one should at least know the very basics. Those will be covered here and then some.
[While Batman is very popular in the DC universe and has many connections to other famous DC characters, this community is strictly for Batman, the inhabitants of Gotham, and members of the Batman family - lets keep it that way.]
What Will Be in This Comm.:
- Essays on characters (going as far as in-depth character analysis), storylines, symbolism, art and even the possible future of Batman and the other characters.
- Discussion/reviews on the graphic novels and/or animated series (Animated (90s), The Batman, Batman Beyond).
- Fanfiction critique for those who want it - no outright flaming. (that's what

fuckyou_batman is for) - Discussion/reviews on the first live action Batman films.
- Discussing all the canons that make up Nolan!verse.
- Het and slash pairings discussion is allowed and encouraged - even analyzing which pairings carry more weight despite not being canon and if an implausible couple were to be shipped, describe how it would work realistically.
- Fanfic prompts and recommendations (but keep them limited)
- Pic-spams of characters (from all Batman universes) is allowed but MUST BE BEHIND A CUT.
Rules:
- All entries MUST be tagged. NO EXCEPTIONS. Many of the tags already exist so please use them for the sake of easy sorting and finding of information, ok?
- Absolutely NO homophobic slurs or insults toward members talking about a preferred slash pairing or toward the slash pairing itself. That shit WILL NOT FLY here. If it happens, you will be banned from the comm. immediately.
- All pic-spams MUST be behind a cut.
- If essays are written, cite sources. The same goes for discussions (especially of the psychological aspects of Batman) , know what you are talking about.
- Feel free to post any specific research questions you may have, but do your own research first. Please indicate if you have checked Wikipedia (or any other source) in any question post you make.
