I want to say thank you to those who have been posting in this community -- there has literally been some great pictures posted in here. Thanks also to everyone else for just hanging out here in general.
Sorry, I have not been on much at all. Have had lots of stuff happening (like having to move twice in the time span of a couple of months). Of course the holidays, and other stuff have been on my plate.
Luckily, I got my own apartment out of the deal :). It's a shared one (just one other person), but, at least I no longer have to rent rooms in people's houses. I also have a Goth roommate now, so that's a big plus.
Anyway, it's a new year, and best wishes to all. I'm looking forward to seeing your creative makeup posts in here.
Sincerely,
Lady of Sorrows |

| Revlon's Lash Jewels? |

Has anyone used Revolon's "Lash Jewels"? What do you think of them? Can you give me any tips on how to apply them without my lashes getting all clumpy? I saw that they were on sale at Target for 1/2 off, and I figured...what the hell, I'll try 'em. Now, I need to know what the hell to do with 'em! |

Just a quick FYI for everyone out there who might be interested.... Physician's Formula carries a SPF 20 translucent face powder, usually sold with the bronzers. It's main ingredient is titanium dioxide, one of the best sunblocks you can get. It controls oil really, really well, whitens the face just slightly, and how can you beat the SPF 20?
Anyway, back to what I really wanted to ask everyone. Ok, just a quick question for everyone out there...
What is your favorite eyeliner? Why? What is your favorite mascara? Why? What, in general, is your favorite brand of cosmetics? Why?
So, I'll start:
I like Maybeline ultra liner waterproof in black. It's a deep, dark black, doesn't run no matter how hard I sweat, and comes in a little brush bottle that is perfect for aplications other than just around the eyes.
Avon Astonishing Lengths Waterproof mascara in black. I guess this is a bit of a swing vote for me, as I use this due to the fact that it's one of the few brands that I'm not allergic to. It's a good, solid black that doesn't get clumpy, but it could stand up to sweat and humidity a bit better, IMHO.
This one veries for me... I like Avon for a lot basic stuff, like powder, foundation, and "work safe" color items. For my clubbing needs, I find that Revlon will often actually carry some really fun, neat eyeshadows and nail polishes. I like MAC, too, but I think that it's too expensive for what you get. |

| Styli-style eyeliner revisited |

I had meant to post something immediately. I had a good first impression, but after using it for a while I have to say the liquid eyeliner pen that's supposed to last 24 hours, just plain sucks. It doesn't go on very black. If you use the point it's a bit too dry to put on. It rubs off after a while.
I'm also beginning to wonder if there's truly going to be a real waterproof liquid eyeliner anywhere. We have to settle for slightly water resistant. I guess we Goths have special needs when it comes to eyeliner. It needs to be heavy and stay heavy, and also needs to stay put for a long time.
The other eyeliner is okay as long as you don't get water on it.
Oh well back to the ol' drawing board. My quest for good liquid eyeliner still goes on. |
