The young actress goes from 'Gossip Girl' to some hard facts of life in her role in Rebecca Miller's 'The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.'

Looking very much like the fashion plate celebrated in magazines, complete with stylishly unruly blond mane and plunging black leather-like jacket, Blake Lively sits semiformally on a couch in a suite at the Luxe Hotel. Piled on the table before her: posters of her new movie for signing. Piled on her lap: fruit and dark chocolate.

"Want some?" she asks, true to her last name. "It tastes like Easter."

Heretofore known for teen-ish roles, Lively covers 10 turbulent years of the title character's younger incarnation in "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee." Rebecca Miller adapted and directed her own novel, which navigates the churning beneath an apparently ideal suburban wife's placid surface.

J and E brunching together at JoJo.  I guess they’re friends again?  V and Paul Hoffman going to see The Maid at the Angelika.  So nice to see film snobs sticking together!  B and C taking in a Saturday night performance of Hamlet.  No word on whether or not they got to go backstage to see Jude Law.  Oh, that’d make S jealous!  D doing work at the library.  Keeping his mind off other things?  Definitely!  S shopping at Stella McCartney.  Nothing like some retail therapy to make you feel better.  N entering the lobby at the Empire.  Alone.  Sad! </p>

Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving is definitely the favorite holiday of yours truly. Because when family comes together you know it can only mean one thing: DRAMA! Is it just me or does it seem like Thanksgiving is always the time for secrets to come out? When I think about Thanksgivings from years past my heart skips a beat. And I’m pretty sure this year will be no exception. Pass the sweet potatoes, this holiday is going to be delicious.

Today, Leighton will stop by The Alexa Chung Show to give a special performance of her hit song “Somebody to Love”. Tune into MTV at 3:30pm EST!

Blake Lively is nicely upper-crust and glamorous on "Gossip Girl." Now, who's ready to see her get all dramatic on the big screen?

Check out this exclusive clip from Lively's latest movie project, "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee," about an emotionally damaged teen who falls pretty far before falling into the arms of Keanu Reeves.

How's she do? Well, Lively nails the zonked-out druggie act. We're still interested to see how she helps the character transition into Robin Wright Penn.

"The Private Lives of Pippa Lee" opens Nov. 27.

Tony and Candice: It was on at Al Biernat's

Tony Romo and Candice Crawford seem quite the cozy item. So who drew more stares from the crowd at Al Biernat's steakhouse Sunday night, Candice, the 2008 Miss Missouri and currently a KDAF-TV (33TV) reporter, or Tony, who just managed to squeak past the Washington Redskins? It was hard to say when they walked in together and the other diners got silent and gawked. Perhaps everyone was staring at Candice's brother, Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford, who joined the party of six. He appeared to be a hit with the female diners.

As the summer is drawing to a close, Blair (Leighton Meester) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) are madly in love and adjusting to their new "in a relationship" status, breaking all traditional rules of dating as would be expected. Serena (Blake Lively) returns from her European adventure with many secrets to hide and a complicated relationship with Carter Baizen (guest star Sebastian Stan). Nate (Chace Crawford) returns from his travels with a mysterious brunette, Bree Buckley (guest star JoAnna Garcia) in tow. Rufus (Matthew Settle), Dan (Penn Badgley) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen) spent the summer in the Hamptons, adjusting to the van der Woodsen's glamorous lifestyle surprisingly faster than any of them expected. Jessica Szohr also stars. J. Miller Tobin directed the episode written by Joshua Safran.

Goodbye, Olivia

Word has it our movie star college student has officially left campus. No more run-ins with the Endless Knights celebrity in the dining hall or seeing her at your 9am History of Ethics class MWF :( But on the bright side, this also means no more sightings of Olivia making out with Dan Humphrey. Seriously those two were kind of gross. Constantly making out on benches in Washington Square Park. Yuck. Though in actuality I will sort of miss Olivia. She brought major star power to an otherwise lackluster college environment. I suppose having the paparazzi around campus plus the invites to the movie premieres helped…Well, anyway good luck with Bitches of Eastwick, O! Hopefully you’ll get to make out with someone hotter than Dan. (I doubt that’ll be very hard…)
