Joo Ji-hoon busted for drug use



Whoa. Five people have been busted for drug trafficking, selling, and/or use — and three of them celebrities.

Most shocking is the involvement of popular actor Joo Ji-hoon, of movies Antique Bakery and The Naked Kitchen.

A representative from the Seoul police’s drug investigation department told reporters on April 26, “Joo Ji-hoon was investigated and admitted to drug use.” Joo reportedly bought the drugs — which include Ecstasy and Ketamine — from a fellow celebrity. Two non-celebrity individuals were booked for drug use along with Joo, but the three were not jailed. Police have filed for arrest warrants for the traffickers, movie actress Yoon Seol-hee and model Yeh Hak-young.


According to the police, Yoon is suspected of having received approximately 100 million won ($75,000) from Yeh and others between August 2007 through December 2008. She allegedly traveled from Japan fourteen times to purchase, smuggle, and sell Ecstasy and Ketamine. (Yeh supposedly accompanied her several times.) The drugs had been smuggled into the country by concealing them in underclothes worn by Yoon.

Joo Ji-hoon is thought to have used the drugs on two occasions along with the other reported individuals, at a Kangnam club and at home.

The 26-year-old Joo Ji-hoon shot to fame after acting the lead role of the prince in the incredibly popular teen drama Goong (Princess Hours) in 2006, which he followed with the dark thriller drama Devil in 2007. Most recently, he took the lead in the manga-adapted film Antique Bakery and the offbeat romance The Naked Kitchen.

YIIIIKES. I’m guessing he’ll be dropped from the Tokyo Tower remake now — if not prevented from acting altogether. Drug use — particularly in South Korea — is a big, big deal, and potentially career-killing stuff. Don’t do drugs, folks!

It seems like chapter 107 is the last Goong chapter on any scanlation site; did Park So-hee simply stop writing, or has everyone stopped scanlating? OneManga hasn't been updated since January 20th and this is murdering me :(

this is great, considering all the available fanfiction is all over the place =) especially for all those with fanfiction located in the misc tv shows or misc anime/manga section. now would be a great time to move to a place where people can access them easily.

I've just finished watching Episode 24 and I'm a little confused. This happens a lot because I'm pretty dense at times, but what exactly is the timeframe between all those scenes? I felt that they rushed it a little, leaving out important details. Why didn't Yul or his mother get in trouble? If they did, I didn't notice. :S

Something else I want to ask is I'm considering writing an AU fic where Yul does become King and he forces Chae-Kyeong to stay by his side as his wife. It would basically be a story of how Chae-Kyeong eventually falls for him instead, and how he copes with the disgust (would it be disgust?) the public and the other royals in the palace feel at his approach to the crown. As I'm writing this out, the plot seems less and less plausible, as in the dorama weren't people looking for any reason to get rid of the royal family anyway? But putting that aside, would anyone read a fic like this? Maybe I'll just write a small one-shot or something... *rubschin*

EDIT: What are your interpretations of the phrase, "You're my sky" ?

I'm pretty sure that the first is the Korean release and the last is the US version, but am I right? And what dif. does it make?

I'm not sure what kind of writing-base the Goong fandom has, but I'm interested in RPing a character somewhere or another. Probably Prince Shin or Hyo-Rin. Either way, I'd like to not be alone at the RP, so is anyone else interested in picking up Goong characters anywhere? Or could one suggest an RP wherein there are Goong characters?

Does anyone have the lines from the scene in the last episode (24) where Yul confronts his mom about the past?

That scene totally broke my heart and I still get teary eyed everytime I watch it.

I'm looking for the lines in Hangul, no Konglish.

"Last year, Eight Peaks stated that they would aim to film Goong 2 in late 2007 or early 2008. However, Yoon Eun Hye and Kim Jeong Hoon have stated their wishes to withdraw from Eight Peaks due to conflicting problems with the company. Yoon Eun Hye has ended already her contract with Eight Peaks and has moved onto Kraze Entertainment.  In all the confusion there still is a confirmed goong two but may not have joo ji hoon. Goong 2 will most likely start filming at the end of 2007."
