So I've been looking for fan movie scripts of a Good Omens movie, because I'm a geek and love seeing things like that.  Because of all the omgMOVIE?!hype that's out there in the fandom, I know that there has to be SOMEONE that's made a fanscript.  I hope, anyway. 

Anyone know of anyone who's done it/have a link that can point me in the right direction?

"I can’t very well give my friend an unworthy fish, can I?" Crowley wailed. "Any pet of yours, he has to be a tough bastard. He has to put up with a bit of the old rough and tumble to live in such a quaint little bookstore.”

This is one of the first GO fics I ever read, and it’s still one of my all-time favorites. I knew and loved this author’s work from the Snapecentric side of HP fandom, where her sprawling, trippy, pottymouthed, screamingly funny series “Death Eaters at the Malfoy Estate” made her quite the BNF—rightfully so—in that neighborhood around 2002 or so. As far as I know, this is the only GO fic she’s ever written.

There are some spelling/Americanism issues, and not all the limbs it goes out on quite convince me--but those don’t matter: I love this story because of its passion. I’m always looking for fics that have a magical blend of imaginative inventiveness; the logic and momentum of farce; mangled pop-culture nods; wordplay and linguistic twists where every bit of banter resonates with cracktastic symbolism, as those are among my favorite aspects of the book itself. (I also like to laugh out loud a lot.) Grindylowe is anything but a cautious or genteel writer—sounds like Pratchett reinterpreted by Hunter S. Thompson--and isn’t afraid to follow a fancy to its logical conclusion no matter how absurd, which in this case, broadsided me with its way of being hilarious, erotic, profound, romantic, and right. Also, it has my favorite drunken conversation of any GO fic, period.

This story is both in the gutter and looking at the stars, and treats both with equal love.

This story is a remix of daegaer's "Ordinary People" which is linked to at the top of the page. While I do love daegaer's work, Ordinary People is definitely not one of my favourites as a piece of Good Omens fanfic.As a piece of fiction in and of itself it's quite lovely, but I don't feel the characters have enough in common with the book to call it fanfic. Ezra, standing in for Aziraphale, has a very familiar feel to him but Tony could really be an OC.

The remix is fantastic, though. The characterisation is excellent and it's tied in neatly to the original work, with far more to give to readers and fans of Good Omens. Crowley's thought patterns are amusing, the lengths to which he goes to justify the relationship to himself, and Aziraphale is also wonderfully characterised.

What sex there is is well written, and the build-up is long enough to make it genuinely affecting when things do start to happen.

All in all, infallibly cheering. Really great.

A brief summery of this story ( without giving too much away) :
Crowley and Aziraphale return to London after ten years in the States. They decide to visit Adam and are in for a surprise. They fear being discorporated.

The story is full of humor in the style of Good Omens. Several characters from the novel appear, including the poodle. Aziraphale and Crowley act like people who have known each other since the beginning of time. It’s the little things the either do or say that really drive home their relationship and what the other means to them. Adam, though living comfortably is still faced with the question of if what he does is right.

I wish I could write all the whys, but I can’t find the words. It just is. The relationship that gets formed between Crowley and Aziraphale is believable in its development, their finger pointing is as well, Giddy Geek captures their natures.

Raiding the GO Exchange coffers again – I don’t want to see the gems there get forgotten now that the holidays are long over.

It’s hard to find really, really good Horsepersons fic – I admit I find them extremely challenging to take beyond drabble length, because it’s hard to wrap one’s brain around an anthropomorphic personification of forces that are so hostile to humanity. (Oddly enough I find Death the easiest to humanize, but that might be some Discworld influence there.) But I’d recommend this to anyone wanting to look further into them. This story takes one of the weirdest, least explicable—but potentially most interesting—throwaway bits in GO, the idea of Pestilence going into retirement and being replaced by Pollution, and gets a story of a protégé/mentor relationship out of it. What I find especially compelling is Pestilence’s ego, the suggestion that all the Horsepersons vie for primacy in their own ways and each might have a ground to claim it in his or her own mind. Pestilence makes a case for being greater than Death himself and lays claim to having played a mighty role indeed in the Fall itself. I do believe Pollution is both impressed and a little frightened by such revelations.

One reason I think this story works so well is that the author is a student of microbiology, and has thought through Pestilence’s psychology of disease in unnerving detail, clearly enjoying integrating the workings of research institutions and the mutations of viruses into the story. It’s a bit more actual science fiction than is usual, and that makes it very convincing; but it’s quite accessible to anyone. (I like her note at the end explaining her gross little bacterial injokes, too.)

jennaria poses an excellent question: Exactly what - if anything at all - was in the Book that Newt and Anathema decided to burn?

This was the last story to come in for the 2005 GO Exchange, just under the wire (magicicada was a pinch-hitter) and it took my breath away. The style is rich and dreamlike and the use of time is strange and it may take more than one reading to get it all to sink in. I’m usually wary and picky about second-attempt-at-the-Apocalypse stories—there has to be a good reason. This is one of my all-time favorites, because the way it uses humor and suspense has a feel that’s very close to the book (if even more surreal) and yet goes its own way, particularly with the voice of Anathema. It’s very funny, and it has moments of sheer terror, and it’s very moving.

It also uses almost the entire cast of the book and no one is acting in isolation here, even separated by time and geography. Anathema and Newt have a passionate but awkward relationship; they’re still getting to know each other, they bump into each other emotionally all the time, and the writing doesn’t flinch from the clumsiness. Newt is heroic by accident again. Greasy Johnson plays a key role, he and Adam have some common understanding on the proper care of wayward exotic species. Poor Crowley’s been abused by Hell again in a particularly ironic way and Aziraphale has to help him calm down and deal with it. And the end…comes, and it’s not what anyone expected. Anathema’s interior monologue has a bittersweet joy about it that’s almost Tolkienesque, and the character whose Big Moment actually moved me to tears? Dick Turpin’s. That’s right, the Wasabi.

This is my first ‘real’ review I am writing so please bear with me.This is the first Good Omens fanfic I read. I read this after seeing Linn’s beautiful artwork. I recommend all of her art work, but there is no way I can write 200 words on each piece –sorry.

When time's been handed back to you, what do you do with it? Exactly what Aziraphale and Crowley find out. It takes place after the book. After a night of drinking Aziraphale asks the question ‘what are we supposed to do now?” and Crowley gives the answer ‘start enjoying the pleasures of the world. There's lots of 'em.’ They had no idea what that little sentence would unleash.

This is how their relationship starts and progresses. As an 'experiment' that goes way beyond experimentation. Aziraphale and Crowley are written beautifully. Aziraphale is the strong one, well at least trying to be. Crowley is insecure and afraid of the feelings and emotions he is experiencing –he is a demon after all.

Irisbleu takes their relationship slowly (meaning they don’t just shag like bunnies) and to me they are very in character. Great attention is paid to the little things, a pen Crowley lets Aziraphale ‘borrow’, a post card written by Crowley, phone calls where Crowley is so close to admitting his feelings, a trip to the shop next door by Aziraphale (warning do not drink anything while reading this).

Linn’s artwork enhances the piece. She manages to capture the feel of the characters. To put on a canvas what they are or are not openly expressing to the other. The picture of Crowley in the hotel room is worth 1000 words.

I should mention that The Pleasures of the World is continued in Sleight of Hand –links are in the fic –my review is for both as you can’t read one with out the other.

I'm going to start, since no one else seems inclined just yet. :)

This story may well have been read by everyone watching; it certainly ought to have been. But this is not a place just for recommending what is unfamiliar, but also for collecting fandom favourites, stories and art which are what drew us into it, perhaps. I seem to remember this as being one of the first pieces of Good Omens fiction I read, although that's not necessarily true - it could be that it feels so familiar purely because of the excellent canonical tone of the writing, the way that it fits so well. It definitely stuck out, persuaded me to try my hand at writing GO fic, and any story that can inspire is doing its job excellently.

This story is told through Crowley's eyes, using fantastic characterisation and convincingly portraying his canonical voice. It tells the tale of what happened to the during the Great Flood, with an irreverance for Biblical figures that brings to mind Christopher Moore's Lamb; more importantly, it makes the Arrangement all the more plausible and convincing. It shows how they could be friends, in a way that's satisfyingly easy to fit in with canon. Little familiar touches are brought in, things mentioned in canon that show the author knows and loves the material she's working from, without feeling the need to touch base on every little detail to prove that she Knows Her Stuff.

I would recommend this, without reservation, to absolutely anyone who enjoyed the book.
