Global Gourmet catalogues the culinary exploits of
umbriel,
ghostflight,
unicronic, Alix and the occasional guest chef as they cook and eat their way through every country in the world, metaphysically speaking.
This possibly faintly crazy idea was an early morning musing of
ghostflight, who drew up the following "rules":
As far as possible the recipes contained within are traditional for each country, or at least attempt to capture their essence. Of course local / seasonal variations in the availability of ingredients means this isn't always possible. Wombat is hard to find in Norfolk.
The list of countries used for this exploit has been sourced from Wikipedia and can be viewed here. Or a 'clickable' view can be found here
Resources we use frequently include:
Recipe Source (Ghostflight)
Recipe Zaar (Ghostflight)
The BBC (Umbriel)
FoodieView (Umbriel)
Or you can view bookmarked recipes:
Ghostflight's del.icio.us bookmarks
The official game of both Global Gourmet and Nigeria is Whot!

- Alternating each week we will cook a meal
- The person who cooks that week shall chose the country of origin for the meal the other shall cook the following week
- The country of the meals origin shall only be picked once
- The continent of the meals origin shall alter each week
- If everything goes tits to the wall, everyone else pays for takeout
