Please, please, let us know what we've missed during our hiatus. Recs are love. LJ only allows us to scroll back so far on the watcher list, so I know we missed stuff.

My co-mod and I are still discussing security for this comm, the writers and artists we rec, our watchers, and us mods. As of right now, I haven't friendslocked anything. This is in part because of time and RL issues, and in part because it's not a guarantee of safety anyway. I could friendslock every single entry here and at IJ, and a troll could ask to join and slip in under our radar. We may end up changing our minds on this policy. :)

But we're definitely concerned about security. If we link anything of yours that you'd rather not have linked for fear of LJAbuse-happy trolls, just drop us a comment and we'll take it off right away.

girls_today will soon be back to bringing the best HP femslash to a computer near you. :)

Here's the twist: We're going to be doing it on InsaneJournal. The IJ version of our community can be found here, if you want to friend it there. However, if you don't have an IJ, fear not; whenever we post an issue to IJ, we'll post a link to it on LJ.

Another modly note: Please let us know, by commenting to this post or via email (girlstoday@gmail.com) if there are any journals or communities at InsaneJournal that we should be watching. We'll still be reading the LJ watcher list, so if you're already on there and still post to LJ, don't worry. But if you're posting exclusively to IJ now, we'd love to know where we can find your stuff.

I've decided to put girls_today on hiatus, at least for a little while.

There has been a lot of discussion on LJ lately about LJ/Six Apart's less-than-consistent policies about adult-rated fanworks. What I don't want is for this newsletter to inadvertently lead some troll to someone's sixth-year Ginny/Luna fic and lead to a TOSing.

Ergo, hiatus. At least until I've chatted with the other mods and we can figure out what to do.
