About Welcome to the livejournal community for the breathtakingly beautiful and dark Japanese visual kei band called Lucy. This community is here for Lucy's overseas fans to talk and share news and information as well as any kinds of media (such as scans) about Lucy. Please join the community to view all the posts. Before joining, however, make sure you read and understand the rules set for this community. Lucy has hardly started their journey, having been formed around the first half of 2007 by Kento, Hiromi and Taisuke of the now disbanded bands nine and Virgin and Sakaki and Ren who had not been in bands prior to Lucy. Their official site was opened on May 1st, and their first live was held on May 7th at Urawa Narciss. Since then, Lucy has had lives in various places and events, such as the 25th Shikkoku no Symphony event to which over 40 bands took part this year. Lucy has yet to release anything, but the band's members say we will only have to wait a little while more for their first release. Lucy's lives are a breathtaking experience; the band's music is heavy, slow, melancholic and dark, and yet extremely beautiful. The guitarists Kento and Hiromi create a mind-blowingly beautiful atmosphere with their guitars, playing wonderfully together, and the masked bassist Taisuke impresses with his skill with both normal and upright basses. All this added to the vocalist Sakaki's deep, gloomy clean vocals and high, agonized screams and growls that send chills down your spine compose a very unique performance, an atmosphere that can be conveyed by no-one else than Lucy. Watching Lucy live is more like watching an impressive drama than a musical performance, an image strengthened by their elaborate outfits partly influenced by The Phantom of the Opera, for example. For a band as young as Lucy, their skill and confidence on stage is extremely impressive. ☆ All kinds of information, news, scans, fanart, media etc. is very welcome, but please keep media posts members locked. ☆ You may post mp3s and videos in the community; however, you are NOT allowed to request for them. ☆ Fanfics and advertisements for roleplaying/fanfic communities are not allowed. ☆ If you absolutely have to advertise another community, make sure it's somehow related to Lucy and that you keep pictures larger than 400px under an lj-cut. ☆ Be courteous, don't start a flame war, etc. You all know how this works. ☆ Feel free to introduce yourself, but remember, introductions that have more than just "hi, i'm [insert name] from [insert country], nice to meet you!" are better. The layout and userinfo were both coded and all the pictures used were scanned by me, karmik.
