GG on Gaia Online..... again

Methinks one of the Gaia staff is a GG fan. Let me explain....

Latest in the "surprise box" line is the zOMG! box, related to the Battle MORG that's due out soon. One of the items that will pop out of this box is a "fluff box" - a box made of fluff. Inside are the more unusual items.... including these and yes, they're popular.

I think they're just purrfect for creating a variation of Agatha, non? ;)

Not terribly good art- but art. Three icons and a desktop, under the cut.

The one of Gil is from one of the sketchbook pages- there was a page of a couple dozen of his heads, and I liked that one.

Three Tests

I finally tracked down the niggling detail from Wednesday that was poking me in the head.

It looks like there are three tests, and an indicator of when she passes them. So far we've seen the voice test and the blood test. I wonder what the third test is?

I recall seeing at one point stencils of the Heterodyne sigil for carving pumpkins but I can no longer find them. Can anyone point me to a good line art of the Heterodyne and Wulfenbach sigils?

continuity question: Slaver wasps

I know that continuity is not always Phil's strong point, and usually it doesn't bother me much. But this one seems like a pretty major plot point ...

Anevka says that regular slaver wasps don't work on Sparks. So Gil and Agatha were never actually in any danger when the Hive Engine was activated aboard Castle Wulfenbach. (But apparently they didn't know that at the time.)

But Tarvek has a special wasp designed to enslave a Spark. And then Lucrezia/Agatha infects Klaus with it. And obviously it takes hold, at least initially. But right after that, Klaus seems to act just like himself, and he has from then on.

So is Klaus a revenant now or what? If so, wouldn't the sniffer ferrets have detected it? Wouldn't Dr. Sun have detected it while treating him? And why would he warn Gil that Agatha is possessed by The Other?

But if he's not, how did he resist possession by the special wasp? Did it not work right because Tarvek screwed it up somehow? Or did Klaus have some kind of Sparky trick to protect himself? If so, we haven't seen it yet. WTF?

Zeetha, Try 1

So, this is my first attempt at Zeetha's outfit from the Girl Genius comic. I messed up the vest --the overlap isn't right at all-- and I'm still playing with the pants' waist. I also need to learn more about modifying wigs. I sent a copy to kajafoglio, and hopefully she'll declare it worthy of going on the cosplay section of the GG site.

I never actually finished it (I was going to add more doomsday devices), and I don't think I will... but lemme tell ya, she's hawt.

An interesting idea was posted over in the Yahoo group about the Other's machine. I haven't seen it here before, so I figured I'd share.

"Lucretia had to learn how to build a enneagram impressing machine from somewhere. From the sound of it, she wasn't a particularly talented spark, at least in comparison to her accomplishments as the 'other'. On the other hand, she might not have learned how to make one as much as learned how to operate one, if it was something from the bowels of Castle Heterodyne. I seem to recall Lucretia, shortly after she impressed into Agatha, complaining about the way the Geisterdamen had reassembled the machine."

If Lucrezia got the basics of her machine from der Kestle, it might be Agatha's best chance of information on how to get her out. I'm not sure whether or not der Kestle would be willing to put up with Lucrezia in a Heterodyne body if that was its only chance of getting an heir, but it certainly wouldn't put up with the woman who (almost certainly) severely damaged it and lead to the disappearance of the two known Heterodynes if it didn't have to, which would be another reason why she didn't want to go to Mechanicsburg.

Of course, if der Kestle's aid involves it going in after the Other, Agatha might not be very keen on it.

Monday's strip

Spoilers. If you don't know the secret of seeing the strip early, wait 20 minutes before clicking the cut. I'm about to go to bed so I can't stay up and wait.

And Agatha discovers the drawbacks of having an intelligent, powerful artifact as a pet.

Prediction for Wednesday: we get a "You said to do (such and such)" "That's not what I meant!" "But it's what you said," type of situation. I'm willing to bet the castle took whatever she said to do rather more literally than she intended. (Or else it deliberately pretended to misunderstand her in such a way as to let it do exactly what it wanted to, which I would not put past it.)

Edit: Also, minor complaint: we hear she's bleeding, but the blood isn't very visible. I looked again and was able to see it, but it's awfully dark down there with the gloves. But boy, there seems to be a lot of the blood if it's pouring down in a stream the way it looks like.

But oddly enough, it looks as though it's her left hand that's bleeding in the first frame, but Von Zinzer bandages her right.

Because obviously, GG makes for interesting conversations...
