Bishounen does that to a man... There's a male character in the anime Fushigi Yuugi that is "so beautiful, he's mistaken for a woman all the time." (Can't remember the name of the character, sorry.) And as we all know from reading Gen's LJ post, Maxim was drawn to be very bishy. (Kawaiiii! <3 ...*ahem*)

Ok, looks like I have to play Devil's Advocate. The nice folks at Playboy obviously don't know what a Jager is. (They've probably seen WoW, so at least [info]sweetpea_grubb didn't get mis-labeled as a Night Elf.) They looked at the costume, noticed the pointed ears, and made a guess.

I've walked the floor at Anime Boston and occasionally asked folks which Anime or comic they were cosplaying. Because there are a lot of Animes/comics characters out there, and I doubt even the uber-geeks know them all.

I used the feedback link to point them towards Girl Genius. I wonder if they'd rather relabel her as "Maxim" or just "Jaeger" to avoid putting a competitor's name up...
