AboutPud’s Great Draco/Ginny Fic Contest Spring 2007
Your mission, should you decide to accept it, will be to write a story revolving around either one of the dynamic duo known as Draco and Ginny as a cat burglar. Heck, it can both of them if you’re up to the task!
Story Requirements:
All entries MUST:
Strongly feature Draco/Ginny. This is pretty much the only iron clad stipulation. Secondary pairings, if any, are unrestricted.
The story can be angsty, humorous, smutty, whatever your little heart desires. It can also be set at any point in their relationship.
Be a minimum of 1,500 words not counting headers and author's notes. No maximum on word count.
Please adhere to acceptable standards of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and characterization. These factors, as well as story content and guideline adherence, will determine placement. Please note that net-speak will result in automatic disqualification basically because it drives all of the judges insane.
I am going to warn you now: I am going to be a witch about the grammar rules this time out. I spent entirely too much of time beta reading submissions last time. If you turn it in early enough, it will be returned to you for revision. Otherwise, it will go to the judges in whatever condition it is in when I receive it. Just remember that spelling and grammar is one aspect of the judging.
Word to the wise: To Catch a Thief is one of my favorite movies so it is not advisable to just rewrite the movie to fit the challenge.
It must be a new story that has not been previously posted to a major archive (Fiction Alley, Portkey, FanFiction.net, FIA, Restricted Section, etc.).
Extra notes:
All submissions will be posted to the contest LJ once the judging is over.
After a week, authors will be free to post to all the usual places.
Stories can be of any rating, but please be sure to note any warnings (language, sexual situations, violence, etc.) for higher rated stories.
Judging:
A panel of judges will score each entry on a 20 point scale (10 points for overall story, 5 points for originality, and the remaining 5 points for incidentals like following the rules and grammar). These individual scores will be tallied to create a final score. The entry with the highest final score will take first place; second-highest score will take second place; and so on.
Each entry will be stripped of author identification before being sent on to the judges for scoring, helping to ensure objectivity in the judging.

Winners will be announced approximately a week after the due date, but this is subject to change depending on the number of entries.
