GimpGirl is having a party tonight! We couldn't book our fave GimpGirl Ally Second Life DJ Namav at the last minute, so the newly minted sometimes-DJ Aleja will be taking the wheel, playing a little bit of everything! May be a contest or two!

The transcript for the on-line seminar that was held on March 30th, "Avatars, Identity, and Expression of Disability" (presented by the head of the Avatar Identity Research Center on Second Life), is now available via our Web site by clicking on "Event Transcripts" in the menu on the upper left hand side. If you don't want to sign in to our website, you can login as a guest. Nearly 60 people were present via Second Life and our IRC channel. It was an amazing event! At the top of the transcript there is also a link to our Flickr group where you can view screen shots of the event. Enjoy! |

"Avatars, Identity, and the Expression of Disability"
Rivka Rau is the director of the Avatar Identity Research Center, and a professor of sociology in real life. The AV-ID Center is the home of the Editing Appearances project, an interview study of avatar embodiment and selfhood in SL. Rivka Rau has conducted over 200 hours of interviews for this project. In addition, through AV-ID she offers a seminar series on topics related to identity and the SL body. She will presenting on our current topic of the month, disability identity on-line, at our Second Life parcel. There will be time for Q & A as well as general discussion.
Open to the public.

| Looking for an IRC Admin |

We are currently looking for a volunteer who is experienced enough with IRC to help set up and admin an IRC channel on quickfox.net.
The folks at quickfox have set up an IRC to Second Life relay that we are hoping to utilize to further accessibility to our meetings for vi/blind members and those who can not otherwise access Second Life.
