GimpGirl on Second Life: information/update
Below the cut you will find some information and an update on GimpGirl community activity in Second Life. This post also appears in the new discussion forum section of our website.
As you may know, GimpGirl has a presence on the virtual community called Second Life. We realize that many people don't use or can't access Second Life for a variety of reasons. We also know that Second Life is a constantly growing as a community, and that many people with disabilities are a part of it.
We want people to be comfortable being members of the GimpGirl community in whichever way is most comfortable for you, whether that is through our website, our our groups on LiveJournal, Facebook, or MySpace. We will work hard to make sure that the same information, resources, and discussions are available to our members in all our spaces on the web.
As for Second Life, our GimpGirl location (link will launch Second Life if you have it installed) is growing. We have had several events there and are planning to have more. We are also looking into ways to make our SL group accessible to more people, including group members who are blind and visually impaired. (See Jen's recent post in the GimpGirl Projects forum).
If you are interested in participating in our community on Second Life, let us know, and we'll do our best to help.
Events for GimpGirl on Second Life will be posted in this forum. Here is some information on our previous events:
