Making icon help
Newbie to GIMP, photo editing, and icon making. I don't know if it's possible to do in GIMP, but how do I make an icon that has rotating images like this one? Is there a tutorial you can't point me to?

You mean animated? What you want to do is put each frame of the animation in its own layer, then save the whole thing as a .gif file. There should be an option to make it animated there.

Ah, I knew it was something simple like that, thanks!

When I made it into a gif, I lost the quality of the originals. Here's what I mean:

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Is there a way to enhance the quality of the gif?

If you're looking to imitate that icon, this tutorial might be what you want: animated gif.

I don't remember which version you've got, so the exact steps might be different, but not by much.

Can't wait to see what you've got planned. :D

Thanks for the tutorial! I'm making an animated icon with caps from SGA:TLM and I've run into another small snag (see comment here).
