Oh, just got all caught up!
Loved the sensory exploration of Sunnydale when Oz was tryinf to find Dawn, that was wonderful.
And this! My favorite ep, pretty much, and it's wonderful so far. Love that Oz and Giles are just 'drawn' to each other.
Hee!

This is just such a wonderful rpg... Giles thinking at the end of the previous part, about Oz and truth...lovely.

And having commented earlier I went back and found more. Which was possibly the best so far, barring the very first installment of the series.

Lovely Oz-Tara interaction. Great depiction of Giles and Oz working together. Perfectly snarky Spike. And some great touches of Oz-humour in the face of crisis.

8:28 am - The Whole So Far

I don't read that many ongoing sagas..But now Jazzverse has joined the Administration Series as an uncompleted online universe that I must keep going back to in search of more.

I adore Giles/Oz as a pairing anyway. The age gap involved is a relationship dynamic that I keep going back to in both my reading and my writing. And I adore both characters, especially when other writers see them (mostly) the way I see them.

That first meeting was perfect. In terms of timing, and in terms of location. The interactions that followed in the two threads with beautifully understated angst (a feature of the universe as a whole) fits the characters and their situation, and there were little human touches all the way through.

I could spend all day describing what I liked about every single thread in exquisite detail, but I'll just stick to saying that I love how well fleshed-out the universe is, how well characterised the supporting cast are, and how perfectly recognisable the situations are, both as they relate to the Jossverse canon and as they relate to how people and relationships really are. Exactly what I want from this type of fanfic.

I may have more to say later.

Just caught up to the latest in this story - the weird moments at the store, the marrige announcement and the party...

This story is just SO good, and i'm so glad to see more.
It's a mature story, which i really like. They're not all hair-trigger and twitcy, all jealous and unreasonable and short-tempered. I like that.
I hate that Oz feels so...inadequate about some things - feels so young and stupid.

This is an odd pairing but it's just lovely here - thanks so much for sharing!!

What he'd like is to take these boxes back to their motel and go through them together. He could tease Oz about his boyhood nudism, ask about his father, about singing hymns in summer camp, about a whole childhood spent (apparently) frolicking naked with Devon. It was with Devon, Giles knows, that Oz first had sex, but what he's seeing in these pictures—the two of them something like brothers, something like childhood sweethearts—seems much more idyllic than he'd imagined.

I'll file this under one of my favorite Oz/Devon moments ever. Pretty much describes their relationship in one sentence. Hugs[info]glossing for pointing it out only moments after [info]kindkit wrote it, and multiple hugs to [info]kindkit for writing it.

I have really enjoyed the "coming home" threads. I look forward to more developments.

He hands Giles his ticket and kisses his cheek. Again. He likes the repetition; like memorizing verb endings in Spanish class, it's all about the repetition to make it real.

I love this image and the idea that repetition doesn't have to be boring. That it can be comforting, reassuring, and in the end real.

Also, the whole lunch with Olivia? Wonderful. I liked Olivia's little threat, reminded me of Willow's 'shovel' talk. But somehow this is so much better, because it's not simply that she's seen Giles get hurt before. She's seen him get hurt by Oz. And that's repetition that we don't want happening.

Anyway... just wanted to pop in and say that this continues to make me all warm and mushy inside and exercise my brain at the same time.

Thank you both.

Thanks for checking this out. It's safe to say that I've never worked so hard on something, nor sunk so deeply into a fictional relationship, nor written so well with someone else, as I have with Jazz.
*kisses [info]kindkit quite madly*

So, um. How's it working for you? Does it make sense? Are we veering into the dreaded schmoop or, alternately, indulging a wee bit too much in the easy angst? Should Giles go to AA? Will Olivia ever be reassured? What color will Oz dye his hair first?
