One of the Boys [13 Oct 2008|12:12am]

yled
[ music | one of the boys - katy perry ]

[mood| okay]

He decidido que como los postsecret, cada domingo (o lunes de madrugada xd) voy a intentar actualizar aunque sea para algo estúpido. ¿buena idea? ¿buenisima idea? very good.

!week recap

(uhh)

Letra tras el cut.

one of the boys )

so, you guys are never going to kiss? )

I'm cool enough.

Stay tune for next week! Y/Y?

The truth is you'll be okay anyway. [12 Oct 2008|06:58pm]

[ mood | bored ]
[ music | "Chemo Limo" -- Regina Spektor ]

I have a feeling that I should be studying for my midterms later this week. But that feeling is quickly oppressed by ADHD. And hunger. Massive, copious tons of hunger points.

The usual vicissitudes (regarding emotions) have knocked the wind out of me. This is my downtime. AGAIN. Argh.

Instead of the usual breaking-out-in-song, I'll break out in psuedo-poetry:
Heavens, dance the Grace Divine, trip the clouds fantastic.
Consternation constellation. The stars have fallen,
Dear. The stars have fallen dear. What I meant to say.
Flames draw nigh, draw ash-black lyrics on rotten flesh out of rotten mouths.
Frantic williwaws cleanse this sullied wood while -- obsequy -- your last words crowd this burdened mind.
Peace at least. Peace at last. Years from now.

And I just realized that writing poetry depresses me.

This was originally posted at S3. Reposting it here.

On Friday, I attended a viewing of The End of Suburbia, which is about Peak Oil and suburban sprawl at the library and afterward we had a discussion about it.

I want to start using coupons, but I don't get a paper. So I was thinking I could maybe get them online. Does anyone know of a good site?

The weekend so far [12 Oct 2008|11:59am]

High school band night:

It went pretty well. As a chaperone I didn't have to do much of anything. The director did ask me and another chaperone to lead the line from the middle school to the high school next door, without telling us where at the high school we were going. Ha. So we just walked until some high school parents were like "Oh hey! Go in there." So we went into the auditorium and the high school kids were lined up along the wall. Their director told the middle school kids to go and stand between someone that plays their instrument. Then the older kids taught the younger ones a few warm up exercises and they played some of their songs for them. They sounded great. There were about 200 kids in there all playing together, so it was pretty neat.

When it was time to head to the field, it was raining. Not enough to cancel the game, but enough to keep the band inside so as not to get their instruments wet. We had to hang out there for almost an hour. I was bored to death, but at least Casey was having fun running around with Elise and making friends with the high school kids. They seemed to be really welcoming to them, but that could have something to do with Elise's brother being in the high school band, so they kind of knew them by association.

We finally got to go out sometime during the 2nd quarter. It's funny - they were playing against the high school I graduated from, so it was Casey's school versus mine. Her school beat mine 28 to 2, and their band was way better, LOL. That's okay, my high school (that I went to the last 2 years) was a dump and I'm not terribly loyal to it.

During the game the director would tell the kids to play certain songs (ie, Fight Song) based on what was happening. It was pretty cool to watch. Casey told me later that she wasn't really playing. All the middle school kids were pretty much faking it or trying to follow along but not doing well, because they had been given the music only 2 days before, and even then only to a couple of songs. That's okay, the point was to see what they do and think about whether or not they want to do the same when they get to high school. Casey is leaning towards yes at the moment.

Wiggle Waggle Walk:

We had a good time, despite Willow's habit of snapping at random dogs and people. UGH. I think it was just sensory overload for her. She's not used to being around so many people and dogs. So we just tried to keep our distance for the most part. She did, however, warm right up to my friend April. She can probably tell an animal lover when she sees one. She was practically getting in her lap while we sat in the grass and watched the costume contest, LOL. I think she was okay with Rose too, but it took a little more time with Jeff, since she doesn't trust men. Eventually she was loving on him too. Amy was there too, but I only saw her briefly. She was with her ex. There's drama there. I won't go into it, LOL.

There were vendor booths set up, so we went around getting samples and signing up for raffles. This place that makes healthy dog food gave me a sample bag of low fat food for Willow. LOL, how dare they?

There were some dogs in very cute costumes there. April took a bunch of pictures, so when she sends them I might snag a couple and post them here. I only took a few of just Casey and Willow. And of course Casey isn't looking at the camera. I should have had April take a pic of them. She's very cooperative when the photographer isn't me. Anyway, here they are. Read more... )

Hair:

When we got home from the walk we took much needed showers (it was HOT) and then tried to get our hair cut. But my brother was really busy and didn't manage to get us in until 4. My plan had been to color my hair afterwards, but all I had time to do was buy it (L'oreal's Rich Auburn True Red). I like the cut. Once I do the color (today) I'll take a picture and post it. I had him take off 2 inches because it had gotten insanely long and out of control. Casey got an inch off, which is twice what we usually do. She's usually all about keeping it as long as possible, but this time actually said maybe it was getting a little too long.

Work:

I was dumb to go get hair cuts at 4, knowing I had to be at work by 5. No idea what I was thinking. We got home at 4:30 and I changed clothes and flew out the door, getting there 4 minutes late. Not too bad, really. Pretty much everyone working there was an admin assistant like me, and they were all friends of mine, so that was cool. I mostly got to hang out with Judy and chit chat while we signed people in to the event. Easy work. Like I mentioned in my last post, we were done at 6:30. I want to say there's a rule at Universal where you have to get paid for a certain number of hours if you come in for a shift. I'm going to look into it, because it's dumb that I should only get 1 1/2 hours pay when I was supposed to be scheduled until 8. What's the point of even driving in, really?

Beertoberfest (and Casey's halloween costume):

So, Amy and Carmen were supposed to meet me in the employee parking lot after I finished work and then we were going to head straight downtown to meet everyone else. Well, of course they were expecting my call at 8 and not 6:30. I had to kill some time while they finished getting ready, so I fixed my hair and makeup and then got some dinner and sat in my cubicle and ate. They got there at a little after 7 and we headed out. We met up with Christine, Mike and Jim at a new club called Ember, which was located in the Beertoberfest area. We watched what seemed to be an 80s rock cover band (they were great), danced and acted stupid. It was fun. Pictures were taken. If I get any good ones I'll post them.

I got home at 11, and Casey was still up watching TV (oh yeah, I did let her stay home). My parents had taken her to dinner and my mom ended up ordering her a Halloween costume. I'm glad we finally got one, she was driving me nuts with her wishy washy ways. She went with the Lilith Goth Fairy. Pretty cool. My mom also got her some black boots to wear with it.

So yeah, the last couple of days were pretty crazy. Today we have no plans, thank goodness. I do however have a pretty large to do list to get to.

Killing Time [11 Oct 2008|07:06pm]

My 5-8 shift tonight ended up being 5-6:30. Carmen and Amy, who were supposed to meet me here afterwards so we could go downtown together, are now speeding up their preparations while I kill time in my cubicle, eating dinner and saying hi to you lovely people.

Except Amy just texted me that she's almost here, so later guys. I'm going to go get drunk now. Kaybai.
