1. Membership:
   This an open community; you don't need approval to post, since I grant everyone approval anyway. However, I will not hesitate to ban people if things get out of hand.
   
   
2. Communication:
   + Make your posts clear. "plz do not type like this. u make it hard 2 read & understand. thx lol." Don't mutilate words or the English language as a whole. That whole "netspeak" thing is unacceptable.
   + In addition, make every effort to label the contents of your posts clearly -- if your link to more icons in your personal journal doesn't actually have more Gilmore Girls stuff, then say so. If it's going to a multi-fandom post, tell us.
   + If you are linking to a post in another journal or community that is friends only, the post you are linking to must be made public for at least 3 days. Otherwise the post in this community will be deleted. This is a community for Gilmore Girls icons, not a place for you to force people to friend you to see them. If you do wish to post a link to such a journal, it is required that at least 10 icons be posted directly to this journal.
   + Formatting your link to look like LJ-cut tags when they actually point to a different journal is not as cute as you think it is. Actually, it's really annoying. (However, it will not warrant a smackdown.)
   + Disabling comments from your posts in this community is unacceptable.
   
   
3. Be Considerate of Slow Connections:
   + When posting more than four icons, please use the lj-cut tag. Some people have slow connections, and it's a drag to load tons of icons. (For info on LJ tags, look at the site FAQ, here.)
   + So you've just made a huge multi-fandom icon post in your journal, and there are 3 GG icons. Don't just post a link to your post -- re-post the icons in your gg_icons entry. It's not hard -- you can copy and paste the html from your original entry, and it saves slow connections from having to wait for 30 unwanted Buffy or Farscape icons to load. Please do this for 6 or fewer Gilmore Girls icons.
   
   
4. Other Discussion:
   + This is a Gilmore Girls ICON community. That means that there are two criteria for posts: [1] It has to do with the show and/or its actors/staff, [2] It must contain ONE(1) icon, or a DETAILED request for an icon. There are to be no discussion and/or icons from other shows unless a current or former cast member is involved.
   + It is acceptable to post icon-related questions(ie. "Who made this icon?" "How can I get this effect shown here?" "Does anyone have any advice for how I can make this icon better quality?") If you have a general icon making question search for a community with an interest in icon making. If you have a general Gilmore Girls question, search for a community with an interest in Gilmore Girls. If you are looking for pictures try Quintessence, Luminosity, or CapGallery.net, if you cannot find them there then you may ask here.
   +Specific requests for icons are also acceptable as long as they relate to Gilmore Girls. Blanket, "Go Fish" requests for any icons of a particular character or couple are not acceptable. Please check the Memory Archives.
   + It is NOT acceptable to post solicitations for other communities or journals, Friends-Only banners, wallpapers, other fanart, or general show discussion UNLESS these items accompany actual icons.
   
   
5. DO NOT STEAL:
   + No stealing icons! If you're going to take someone's icon, comment and tell them. If you're going to take someone's icon and pass their work off as your own, you'll be removed from the community and may heaven have mercy on your soul.
   + NEVER STEAL BANDWIDTH -- This should go without saying, but never, ever hotlink someone's icons (or any images, really) without asking. LiveJournal is kind enough to host our icons, so if you use someone's icon, it won't be a bandwidth drain on her server. If you plan to use the icon somewhere that requires remote hosting, DO NOT link from the creator's website without getting permission FIRST.
   
   
6. NO SPOILERS:
   + PLEASE do not post spoilery icons (except behind LJ-cut tags) or hint at spoilers in your posts. Please respect that many members of this community would like to stay spoiler-free.
   + What counts as a spoiler? Anything about a particular episode until 24 hours after it has aired in the US -- in other words, it's a spoiler until 9pm the Wednesday after it airs.
