Welcome, my children. You have seen the light and found the Way to the religion of Gerardism. Here, we worship our Lord, Gerard Way and all of his teachings.
TEN COMMANDMENTS OF GERARDISM:
1. Thou shalt not take this community and/or "religion" seriously!
2. Thou shalt worship thy Lord, Gerard Way, by listening to My Chemical Romance.
3. Thou shalt not hate, but rather, spread the MCR-Lurvin’ as far and wide as possible.
4. Thou shalt attempt to get Gerard to shout obscenities at gigs (not that you need to, I mean, he does it without any encouragement anyway...).
5. Thou shalt believe in Love and the healing power of music.
6. Thou shalt comfort thy fellow followers of MCR/Gerard Way/Gerardism and protect them from harm, as all good family members do; because that's what we all are, us MCR fans - we're a family. *Hugs*
7. Thou shalt learn how to say as many MCR song titles as possible in as many languages as possible ... just for fun.
8. Thou shalt not make thy fellow Gerardism follower (or any MCR fan, for that matter) feel bad about not being at a gig.
9. Thou shalt not speak ill of Gerard Way or any of his fellow band members, but thou shalt tolerate the opinions of those who wish to do so, as they shall get their Judgement from a Higher Power (lol) ... and if thou shalt meet any of the lads of MCR, thou shalt not hassle them, but be nice and polite and respect their wishes; they're only people, after all, and they deserve their privacy and space (If you want to be all fangirly, that's what we're here for ... Don't frighten the boys - we want them to come out in public again!).
10. Thou shalt not speak ill of any other MCR followers or those who you deem to be "not a real fan", for there is no such thing. If they follow MCR, they are a real fan, be they 5 years old or 105 years old (It'd be cool to meet a 105 year-old MCR fan, wouldn't it?). In the words of the almighty Bill and Ted: "Be excellent to eachother".
RULES:
1. Follow the ten commandments (but you know, if you can't keep them all the time, we won't mind so much; we're not hardcore Gerard fundamentalists. Lol.)!
2. Everyone is welcome, but don't just join to make fun of us.
3. Whereas we appreciate all kinds of humour, there are some people who think that hating is a form of humour. It's not, so if you're a member of any My Chem girlfriend/wife hating comms., please look elsewhere. No haters please. If your request to join got declined this is the ONLY possible reason why... Unless, of course, you happen to have words like, "I (HEART) Nazis" or things of that ilk written on your profile/tattooed on your forehead, in which case, expect to face a lot of rejection... and not just from us.
4. Dnt TaLk Lyke dis!!! It's really annoying.
5. Respect other followers of our "religion". We don't want to see any negativity here. It's a place to show the lurve, people!
6. In the below application (which should be under an lj cut), make the title, "The Ghost of Me", just so we know you've read these rules!
P.S. We are obviously not a real religion, before anyone asks. We know that Gerard Way is a normal human being, and therefore, has flaws (which just go that little extra bit to make us like him all the more) and insecurities. We appreciate him for the music he makes with his fellow bandmates, his lyrics, his appreciation of music and love and all the things no-one else dares to talk about, and his imperfections. We also think that he is somewhat attractive (DUH! Lol). We are not crazy people who think he is some kind of Messiah! Lol. CAN I GET AN A-MAN?! A-MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!

MID-WEEK PICK-ME-UP:
This is a competition held every Wednesday to combat that nasty feeling of the combined crapness of Monday and waiting for the hope of the weekend. Every week, pictures of Gerard Way are submitted by members and rated (out of 10) by the rest of the members of the community. Any member is welcome to enter. On Wednesdays (hence the "Mid-Week" part), we will add up the ratings, and the picture that has the highest score wins. We'll announce the winner in a post, alongside the winning picture itself!
