More BAFTA goodness from the Radio Times...

Photobucket

And I love the write up: "Sam and Gene might have got on each other's nerves a bit in Life on Mars, but it's obvious the relationship between John and Philip is more relaxed".

Du bist festgenommen!
I know we already had Life on Mars in Spanish but, as you might know, everything is dubbed in Germany.
So for whoever wants to know what Gene Hunt sounds like in German, here is a promo-clip from Amazon.de

if the link doesn't work, simply go to http://www.amazon.de and then search for "life on mars"

I have to admit, "Du bist festgenommen" doesn't quite have the same ring to it as "You're nicked!"

;-)

BAFTA's 2008
Nothing for LOM again this year, frustratingly, and Cranford missed out in both the Serial and Audience categories.

Here's a pic of Phil arriving early this evening.

LOM outtakes
Phil's website had an update recently, and among other things, these LOM outtake clips have been added to the Footage section. I think they are the same ones from the Series 1 DVD, but if you haven't seen, here they are!

*Warning - VERY SWEARY*

New Year Picspam
All of these are from the Bafta's of May last year, as it is now. I don't think I've seen these around before, (but if  they're not new, I hope you won't mind seeing them again!) There's some more shots from when Phil did his big entrance as Gene (some are smiley!), some with John on the red carpet (and one where Mr G looks very very cross), and there are some more group shots from afterwards. We were all wondering where Marshall was in those pictures, well, here he is!

TV Zone Yearbook 2007/2008
Nice complimentary write-up about LOM Series 2 in TV Zone's Yearbook. Nothing very new but there's a lovely description of John and Phil's contrasting acting styles, among other things.

Warning: Spoilers about the ending!!!!

TV Times Awards 2007

Sorry if this is old news!

John and Phil won in the Best Double Act category in the TV Times awards last week!  They published a lovely comment from Phil, which I hope it's OK to reproduce here courtesy of Magicalexarefab on TRA, (I was too late buying my own copy!)

"I can't believe it - we beat Ant and Dec! It's very nice of the readers to vote me and The Simm as Double Act of the year. I spoke to John the other week - I think he was in Paris at Disneyland with the kids - and told him. So he was very pleased as well."

Well done to both of them!

I wonder if there'll be a presentation of some sort?

LOM Book 2!
The Life on Mars Series 2 Companion, by Guy Adams and Lee Thompson, is out tomorrow!

If you've not already pre-ordered yours, it's available from Play.com for £8.99 with free p&p.

Synopsis
Few television dramas in recent years have made such an impact with critics and fans alike as BBC One's award-winning Life on Mars. There's been nothing else like it, with its 1970s setting and its unique blend of crime, science fiction, mystery and humour - plus of course the compelling human drama of its ever-present question: will Sam make it home? Where volume one of THE OFFICIAL COMPANION explored in detail the genesis and making of the show, volume two takes the story of this ground-breaking series to its conclusion with a range of features from views on how it ended to the making of a legend in the character of Gene Hunt. Illustrated with hundreds of on-set photos and drawings, its witty, incisive text and sublime design, with just enough of a nod to seventies style, combine to provide the ultimate viewers' guide.

NTA's pics
Pictures follow from the National Television Awards earlier this week. Phil is pictured with Liz, Marshall, and Dean, with Beth Goddard, and with Lou and Andy.

In case anyone didn't see the link to footage of the awards a couple of threads ago, I'll put it here

And does anyone know what is going on in the last two pictures?!

NTA caps
Here are some audience shots (Phil, Liz, Marshall and Dean are visible, and also Jane Featherstone and Matthew Graham, just), shots of Phil onstage with Lou and Andy, and some teasing going on with Marshall, from the National Television awards last night. Phil was resplendent in a three piece suit.

Sorry about the size of one of the caps, Photobucket will not shrink it no matter how nicely I ask.

There are more shots on the Railway Arms NTA thread (under General Discussion),  thanks to wibble for those!
