The following information reveals spoiling events from the last episodes of the Clone Wars cartoon.

Grievous' bloody participation in the Clone Wars was felt by the entire galaxy. His first appearance in battle during the Wars was on Geonosis, where he slaughtered a handful of Jedi in the Geonosian catacombs. Aside from the utter carnage left in his wake, it was also noted that the ill-fated Jedis' lightsabers were missing. Clearly Grievous was no ordinary enemy, and Geonosis was only a sample of the terror he would soon spread across the galaxy.

During the Clone Wars, Grievous was the great leader of the Seperatist droid army. Combined with his strategic mind and an infinte number of soulless droids, Grievous was able to inflict catastrophic losses on the Republic. It seemed annihilation came natural to him as he enslaved and destroyed entire civilizations to achieve the goals of the Confederacy, as well as his own. He did whatever necessary to ensure victory, bypassing any honor he once had as a flesh-and-blood being.

The Jedi referred to him as cowardly, but this was not true of the General. Not only did he leave the safety of his bunkers on several occassions to fight alongside his army, but he was never afraid to take on any enemy should the fancy strike him. Cowardice was not in his nature, although hatred was.

One of his most notorious campaigns was on the industrial world of Hypori, where Grievous alone successfully cornered and annihilated several Jedi. As a show of his 'mercy', he offered the Jedi an honorable "warrior's death" (which they swiftly received).

His shining moment though was on the planet of Coruscant, where he and his invasion forces infiltrated the planet's defenses, slaughtered several Jedi, narrowly escaped Mace Windu, successfully kidnapped Chancellor Palpatine (leader of the Galactic Senate of the Republic), and escaped back to the Separatist flagship, Invisible Hand. The galaxy was shocked and terrified as he broadcasted a threat to execute Palpatine over the Holonet if the Republic forces did not allow his troops to escape Coruscant. It seemed General Grievous was capable of anything.

Another version of the events on Coruscant involve Grievous' meeting with Mace Windu in the last moments before Grievous took off in his personal fighter with Palpatine. In those moments, Grievous stood prepared to attack Mace, giving Mace just enough time to suddenly Force Crush the General's metal chest (containing his vital lungs and organs inside). From that point forward, he was cursed with a persistent, violent cough as his injured lungs stubbornly continued to operate.

A second explanation behind Grievous' cough focuses on inadequate technology. His body was the best that could be built at the time, but cyborg techonology had not yet been perfected. Thus Grievous had to make due with a faulty breathing system, which allowed his lungs to fill with fluid. The result is a wet, heavy cough.

Grievous' participation in the 6th and final movie of the Star Wars saga, Revenge of the Sith, was as instrumental to the plot as it was brief. His onscreen debut begins with the raspy, coughing General boarding the bridge of the Invisible Hand and inquiring about the status of two Jedi who've penetrated his ship's defenses. His droids eventually capture the two, but not before they successfully free Palpatine and kill the ill-fated Count Dooku. After being cornered himself by the Jedi, he escapes to Utapau, leaving his heavily damaged ship to burn up in Coruscant's atmosphere.

The Separatist's hidden base lay in one of the many sinkholes of occupied Utapau. As soon as his escape pod lands, Grievous speaks to Lord Sidious via Holonet, who instructs him to move the Separatist leaders, also on Utapau, to the volcanic world of Mustafar. Grievous seems uneasy about continuing the Separatist campaign without the leadership of Count Dooku.

Eventually, Obi-Wan Kenobi is sent to Utapau to put a stop to Grievous once in for all. After Grievous finished briefing the Separatist leaders on their moving plans, he is surprised (though hardly worried) to find Obi-Wan in his base. After sending his droids to deal with the lone Jedi with less-than-admirable results (never send a droid to do a cyborg's work!), Grievous and Obi-Wan duel for a short time before Republic clone troopers descend on the base. In a moment of carelessness, Grievous is sent flying through the air by a powerful Force Push from Obi. Once back on the ground, Grievous activates his personal wheel bike (which is actually a "Juggernaut" military vehicle) in an attempt to escape to his personal fighter on the other side of the base in a secret hangar. Obi pursues, dropping his lightsaber in the fray.

After a long chase, they find themselves in the secret hangar, where they resort to kicks and punches and throws in lieu of their fallen weapons. At one point, Obi manages to crack open Grievous' protective chest cavity, exposing the vital organs inside. Just when Grievous thinks Obi is done for, dangling off the side of the landing pad with a very deep cavern below, Obi uses the Force to grab Grievous' dropped blaster and fires several rounds into Grievous' open chest cavity, killing the General in an impressive display of high-pressurized fireworks.

The last onscreen shot of Grievous is a brief, far-off upwards view of his corpse off to the side as Obi-Wan returns to the secret hangar to take Grievous' personal fighter after Order 66 is issued.
