16th-Oct-2009 10:24 pm - Liar Game: Episode Zero
I saw this in a recent article on Tokyograph (http://www.tokyograph.com/news/id-5367).

FujiTV is releasing a spin-off drama of its extremely popular drama (about to begin its 2nd season), "Liar Game" (ライアーゲーム), available via Fuji TV On Demand, which is an online pay-per-view / video-on-demand site. The spin-off is called "Liar Game Episode Zero" and is apparently about the two lead characters, set seven years before. Erika Toda's character is played by the young actress Mayuko Fukuda, who was in Death Note 3: L Change The World. Shoda Matsuda's character is played by Furukawa Yuta (4th generation Fuji Syuusuke).

See also Fuji TV's announcement with photographs (proving it really is TeniMyu's Furukawa Yuta):- http://wwwz.fujitv.co.jp/fujitv/news/pub_2009/091015liargame.html

1st-Aug-2009 10:53 pm - ahaha what
[Takumi-kun Series Soshite Harukaze ni Sasayaite], the BL movie that came out in 2008 starring Yanagishita Tomo as the title character and with Takiguchi Yukihiro, Aiba Hiroki, Makita Tetsuya, and Saitou Yasuka in the cast, is going to be adapted for the stage. (I would LOL so hard if it was a musical, but it doesn't look like it.)

Isogai Ryuuko (Chitose-A) is playing Saki Giichi (played by Katou Keisuke in the movie). Watanabe Kouji (3rdKawamura) will be Akaike Shouzou (played by Takiguchi in the movie). Uenobori Makoto (Yuuji-B) will be playing Nozaki Daisuke (played by Makita in the movie).

The show runs Dec9-13 this year. ^_^

Shiozawa Hidemasa, who played St. Rudolph's strategist Mizuki Hajime in the Prince of Tennis Musicals, appears in the music video for the single 今でも 会いたいよ (performed by Ito Yuna, featuring SPONTANIA).

The single was released on 31 March 2009 (the mode of distribution, according to Wikipedia, was via ringtone websites) and was part of Ito Yuna's 2009 album, Dream (released on 27 May, 2009).

The music video itself is now available for viewing on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO88Wojbhqk

Date Koji, who played Ohtori Choutarou in the Prince of Tennis Live Action movie and reprised his role for some of the Prince of Tennis Musicals, will be releasing a mini-album on 22 July 2009.

CD: こんな時代だから
Release date: 2009年7月22日(水)発売
Price: JPY 1,500

For more information, see: http://www.teichiku.co.jp/artist/date/

There's an interesting and sizeable shot of him there, with an electric guitar, a half-smoked cigarette between his fingers and a plume of cigarette like a blob of cotton wool obscuring part of his hair.

I wonder if it's the album cover...?

Certainly he's trying to project a grittier image than his looks, his blog design and his blog entries suggest.

After Seto and Maa-kun, the star (or one of them!) of the next season in the Rider series is also one of our Tenimyu homeboys:

Kiriyama Renn, our first gen Rikkai Marui Bunta, is playing Shotaro, one of the two protagonists of the upcoming series Kamen Rider W! \o/

The other actor is Suda Masaki, in his debut role as Phillip, the guy who combines with Renn's character to form Kikaider W.

Kamen Rider W is slated to start this Fall, right after Decade ends.

"Sengoku Basara" takes to the stage

The popular Capcom action game "Sengoku Basara" (also known as "Devil Kings") is being adapted to theater. The video game has already had multiple sequels released, in addition to anime and manga adaptations.

The story is set during Japan's Sengoku period and revolves around two warlords, Date Masamune and Sanada Yukimura. Masamune will be played by Yuki Kubota, best known as the character of Keigo Atobe in the "Prince of Tennis" musicals. Yukimura will be played by Shinwa Kataoka, who served as Go-On Blue in the recent tokusatsu series "Engine Sentai Go-onger."

Daisuke Nishida of the theatrical troupe AND ENDLESS is writing and directing the "Sengoku Basara" stage adaptation. Performances will be held at Tokyo Dome's Theater G-Rosso from July 3 to July 12.
