I honestly thought there would be more action in this forum - especially as they are now 2nd on the ladder after some rather impressive games.
Saints this weekend at the Dome... I wonder how they'll do! It would be rather odd if they did lose.
Anyway... just did think there would be more posts. Especially from jools!

Hey guys,
Sorry if this is kinda off-topic, but I'm a Journalism major at Deakin University, and I'm doing my news story on football forums.... So if you guys would be kind enough to fill out a little form, it'd really help me out a lot!
Go Cats!
Cross-posted everywhere, sorry about that!

That's allll, hope you all are well.

As I'm still in too much pain to talk about yesterday, I thought this was an interesting stat to point out:
Geelong Leading Goal Kickers 2006 1. Gary Ablett 18 2. Paul Chapman 16 3. Jimmy Bartel 13
As much as I love Gary Ablett, he shouldn’t be the clubs leading goal kicker. That's what tall key forwards are for, something Geelong is obviously missing. Ablett, Chapman and Bartel aren't even forwards all the time, they're on-ballers as well. I see this as a problem! As well as the fact that Ablett (as leading goal kicker) only has 18 goals, far behind the leader goal kicker in the league (Jonathan Brown - 35).
Well, that and the fact that they can’t play last quarters...

| NAB r1 side v Carlton! |

King named for Cats 3:29:45 PM Thu 23 February, 2006 Matt Burgan
Geelong has named skipper Steven King in its squad for Saturday night's NAB Cup clash against Carlton after it was flagged earlier in the week that the ruckman would not play.
Coach Mark Thompson said King was "very, very close" to playing on Wednesday and that the 202-centremetre was set to sit out of the first week of the NAB Cup, yet it remains to be seen if he will take his place in the team.
As expected, the Cats have not named senior players Tom Harley, Brad Ottens, Steve Johnson, Peter Riccardi, David Wojcinski, Henry Playfair and Andrew Mackie.
The Cats have included yet-to-debut duo Matthew Spencer and Brent Prismall, who are entering their third and second AFL seasons respectively.
Rookies Will Slade and Tim Sherringham have also been included. Slade has played 11 matches for the club since 2002, but his season has been ruined with osteitis pubis in recent times.
None of Geelong's five new draftees have been named.
Carlton has named last year's No.1 NAB AFL Draft selection Marc Murphy in a virtual full-strength line-up for Saturday night's game at Telstra Dome.
Murphy, the son of Fitzroy great John, joined the Blues after declining an offer to join the Brisbane Lions under the father/son rule.
He is the only new Carlton player selected in the squad, although Luke Blackwell - the son of former Blue Wayne - and South Australian Adam Hartlett have been named, after joining the club last season.
The duo have yet to make their AFL debut in a home-and-away fixture and if they line-up for the Blues against the Cats, it will be their first official matches for the club.
Irishman Setanta O'hAilpin, who shone in Carlton's intra-club hit-out last Friday, is in the team.
O'hAilpin, who played one AFL match in 2005, is entering his third season with the club, but this season will be his first full year on Carlton's senior list, as he was a rookie in 2004-05.
Carlton v Geelong, Telstra Dome, 7:40pm (AEST), Saturday 25 February
