About
The garden is dedicated to helping survivors of sexual abuse, sexual assault, rape, and incest to heal. It is run by staff of the Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center (SARCC). We will be posting healing topics and questions for members to read and discuss, about once a week.

At this time members may also post to the community, but the posts will be moderated. This means once you post something it will be forwarded to the moderators for approval. During the week any posts should be approved within 24 hour. However on the weekends it could take up to 48 hours before a moderator can approve your post. If any posts are not approved we will attempt to notify you with the reason.

Moderators will support everyone in feeling safe. If you feel unsafe, let a moderator know and we will address the issue. Offensive replies or those encouraging self destructive behaviors will be deleted. First offense will receive a warning, at second offense you will be banned. Anyone harassing members will be banned.

We understand that some of you may want to give out your screenname (AIM, Yahoo, etc) and that is okay. For your protection, please do not give out any other identifying info (such as your address or phone number).

This is a moderated membership community for security reasons. Apply for membership and we’ll check you out and you’ll be added. If you have created a new journal to keep yourself anonymous please email us with the name of your other journal. If your membership has been denied and you still wish to join please email us and we can discuss the issue.

Please remember this is not a counseling service, if you are in crisis or wish to seek counseling please try one of the following:

If you are in the US you can call 1-800-656-HOPE . It is a confidential, 24 hour hotline run by RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network).

If you live outside the US you can find a listing of crisis numbers by country here: http://www.hotpeachpages.net/
