Newbie post bears newbie request

Hey there,I 'm new to this community ^__^
I finished watching the Gankutsuou anime just yesterday and I shamelessly admit that I instantly developed a HUGE crush on this series and all its characters ; But,to my endless despair,I wasn't able to find any link to those beautiful Japanese fan-art sites ( the few I found weren't working anymore).
Could you please help me ; . ; ?

Theme song question

So I'm pretty sure I've heard the melody used in "We Were Lovers" in a classical piece (okay, maybe more Romantic than Classical, but let's not be nitpicky), only I can't seem to find out what the original was. Does anyone know where the theme might have come from? Everything I see only credits Jean-Jacques Burnel.
