| About: | Q: So what is ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} gamingworkout exactly?A: gamingworkout is a brand new community bringing together gamers who are looking to get fit through their games!Q: Eh? How does that work Mr/Ms Couch Potato Gamer? A: Not all games see people sitting on their bums all day. With the likes of DDR now available in your own home, Sony's ingenius EyeToy invention (not to mention specific fitness games for the EyeToy) and even the Wii we are now seeing more gamers getting off their bums and getting fit! Well.. At least, that's the plan! Q: So how do I get started this whole "gaming regime" then? A: You'll need either a Playstation / Playstation 2 / Xbox(360) or a Wii. There's a more informative post here about it! Q: How do I join this community? A: You can join by clicking here and then you should start by making a brief introductory post. You don't have to do this, but a quick hello and a description of what you plan to do, what you need help/advice/motivation with or what you're currently doing would be pretty nice and hey, it'd help keep this community buzzing! Posts with more than one photo in MUST be being a LJ-cut. Also the photo out behind the cut MUST not be larger than 650 pixels wide. 5. For this competition to take place we need at least TEN people taking part. Q: So what is this competition about anyway? A: 12 weeks of exercising through games! The EyeToy Kinetic game has an initial 3-day-a-week-12-week-long program that we're now turning into a fun, motivational, competition! You don't have to have EyeToy Kinetic to join in on this competition, but you do have to have some sort of fitness game. Q: Who can take part? A: Anyone with an EyeToy+game/DDR mat+game can! Just sign up here (sign-up page coming soon!) Q: How can I take part then? A: By signing up here (sign-up page coming soon!) and then, well, gamercising from April 16th - July 9th! Post weekly (or daily if you so please!) about how you're getting on with exercising through your games. Over 12 weeks you can share you story and advice with others and get help and motivation where and when needed... Oh, and you can also get fit ;) Q: What are the rules? A: There are a few rules to abide by.. 1. You must have a fitness game to take part! You don't have to stick purely to the gaming regime (i.e, you can use other forms of exercise) but you must use it at least once a week to qualify for the prize! 2. You must post at least once a week of your progress. 3. If you can't post once a week or if something has come up that you need to stop the gamercising for a week or two, let the mod know the reason why! You may still be in a chance to win! 4. You must PROVE that you aren't slacking off and are taking part! It's unfair if everyone else working their asses off and you're sitting there lying your face off :P You can do this with photos or videos. 5. Have fun dammit! Q: So, what's the requirements for winning then? A: I'm not going to say that the person who has lost the most weight will win as some people lose it quicker than others. To win this competition you must be the most enthusiastic, the most hardworking and the most dedicated fitness gamer! | |
