"Rondo of Swords" is a good turn-based SRPG for the DS. Also, "Luminous Arc" is wicked awesome.

I'm working on Persona 4 on the PS2 now, which is pretty good (as is its predecessor, Persona 3). If you haven't played previous versions, the DS remake of Final Fantasy IV is decent as well, as is Dragon Quest IV, the Etrian Odyssey games, etc. Plenty of games to suggest.

Hmm, I'm not massively fond of turn based RPGs, but Persona 3 seems to be the best one of those I've played.

Persona 3 is a very cool turned-based RPG for the PS2.
Jeanne d'Arc on the PSP should not be missed.

I'll list a few I like that haven't been listed by others. (They all listed good ones too)

PS2- Suikoden (haven't played the others yet), Atelier Iris, Shadow Hearts

I've only played the original Wild Arms, but there is a remake on ps2 (Wild Arms Alter Code F)- now I don't know how good it is but the original was very good.

PSP- Valkyrie Profile <3

DS- Chrono Trigger

I played Suikoden 1 on the PS and it was actually one of the better RPG's I've ever played. But then again, I just adore having a team of 6 people :-)

I may have played 2 but I think I missed 3.... I don't think the sequels were as good as the original.

also, Suikoden is slighly linear... characters are reoccurring so you may want to start with #1.

I should have mentioned those, but I just saw ps2 and went strictly for that, but you're right since ps2 does play ps1 games. (I can think of alot of good ps1 lol) Suikoden 2 is one of my favorite rpgs ever- 1 is also good. (I meant I hadn't played any past 3 that were on ps2 when I said that lol) x:

That's also partially true, it does make a bit more sense if you start at one, but it's not enough to effect the story much. (Pretty sure 3 takes place a bit further from the 2 nations 1 and 2 occur in- it's been a long time since I've played them though so I'm not sure- I dunno I played them 2 -> 1 -> 3 lol)

you should have asked about ps1 games too because 3 of those systems play ps1 games. unless you've already played them all.

For the PS2, I'd say anything by Atlus, if you can find em. Phantom Brave is full of awesome.

For the DS, I highly recommend the Mario & Luigi games. Superstar Saga is a GBA game but you can play it on your DS, and Partners in Time is a fantastic, if slightly short, DS game. Also, I haven't played this version, but try out Chrono Trigger if you haven't already.

As someone mentioned- Suikoden 1, since it just came out on the PSN store for 6 bucks.
Persona 4 (ps2) is the highest rated new release, Period, at this moment (atleast, according to Game Rankings and Meta Critic) and I'm honestly enjoying the hell out of it.
for PSP I'd personally recommend Popolocrois and Brave Story. I believe Brave Story had higher ratings but I thought popolo was adorable.
the FF Remakes and Dragon Quest 4 for DS are good.

If you want a Stratagy RPG, which is also turn based, you should pick up Disgaea. They're all relatively cheap these days (under 20 for all except for 3) and they're insane fun. 1 is on DS, PSP, and PS2, 2 is only PS2, and 3 is on PS3. You don't need to go in order (re-occuring characters, but honestly there is no story continuation that Really matters)

and, hey, for your PS3 you should get the Penny Arcade RPGs that were released (15 bucks each) they're very funny, turn based, and very entertaining.

disgaea, disgaea 2, disgaea 3. (ps2/3/psp)
Wild Arms XF (PSP)
Final Fantasty Tactics A2 (DS)
soul nomad (ps2)
Jeanne D'Arc (psp) [This is definitely one not to miss].
Most games by NIS America are good turn based strategy games.

If you haven't played Dragon Quest 7 or 8, you should now.
