Awards resutls
Hey, folks. Thanks to all who participated and congratulations to the winners. Great job by everyone and I hope that next time we do this we have more participants. :D

Results and Awards banners can be found here. If you would like your vid combined to a single banner, let me know and it's easily enough to take care of. :D

If anyone has any feedback to make this better for next year, let me know.

Voting ends in 5 hours
Hey folks, sorry not been around a while, but if you haven't yet voted, you have until midnight GMT or 8pm EST or 5pm PST. There are a lot of wonderful vids nominated and even if you don't have time to vote in all categories, I encourage you to watch the vids and leave some feedback for the vidders.

Nominating is open until 31 Jan
Nominating for the First Annual Gallifrey Awards is now open until the end of January 2008.

Since these awards differ from most of the others, here is a summary of FAQ. For the full FAQ, click here.

For questions not answered either place, please feel free to ask them here. One of us will get back to you as soon as possible.

What vids are valid to nominate?

For this year, any vid posted prior to 1 January 2008 featuring footage from the Ninth and Tenth Doctor series’. No crossovers are allowed, and this includes Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Note: Any vid containing plagiarized material is not eligible. Any vidder who has a plagiarized vid nominated will have all of their nominations disqualified.

What information do I need to nominate a vid?

At a minimum you need the vidder name, vid name and vid URL. Having the vidder email is appreciated so we can let the person know their vid has been nominated, but if you can’t find it, please use something that is clearly a fake email such as fake@dummy.com. This will allow us to easily determine which vidders need to be tracked down and notified.

What restrictions are there on nominating?

1) You can only nominate one vid per category, so think carefully. If you nominate more than one, both nominations will be disallowed.

2) Do not nominate your own vids.

3) Make sure you are not nominating a vid in two mutually exclusive categories (the full list is in the FAQ and the Category description).

4) You do not need to nominate in all categories at once, nor do you need to nominate in every category. Cookies will keep track of which ones you have already nominated in and hide them from view.

Again, this is a quick summary of the major points of the FAQ regarding nominating. The FAQ also cover Voting and the Results.

Welcome to the Gallifrey Awards
What are the Gallifrey Awards?

They are a different type of Doctor Who fanvid awards. Rather than use the usual format for awards where a vidder nominates his/her vid to a person or panel who will choose the award, these are a by the people, for the people sort of award.

You nominate your favorite video in each category. You vote for your favorite video in each category. Simple as that. The fans decide which they think are the best videos.

The nomination phase will run the entire month of January to give you plenty of time to review the vids out there and find your favorites.

You are telling me these are a by the people, for the people sort of awards, but someone has to be running them, right?

Okay, you got us there. [info]jagwriter78, [info]rhoboat and [info]ltgarrix (phoenix) are running things behind that scenes. What does that mean? Quite simple, jagwriter78 and rhoboat brainstormed on the categories and phoenix (who has run this sort of fanvid award for the last 3 years in the  Farscape fandom) offered up the voting script. jagwriter78 made a few modifications to move it to it's new home, et voila! The software will collect the nominations. There will be a little human interaction to get things set for voting like verifying the vids. Once voting begins, it's all up to the software to tally votes. Before the results are given, there will be a little human interaction to insure that nothing strange has happened (such as someone voting more than once), but all valid votes will be counted to the totals. So the three of us will not be picking our favorite vids.

Further questions and a more in depth description of the awards can be found at the Gallifrey Awards FAQ.
