I have a request...
Would anyone happen to have scans of volume 3 of G-Defend?

I have the chinese scans from 2, 4-29, but I don't have 1 or 3. I'm more looking for 3 though, but if anyone has volume 1, I'd love to request that as well. ^-^;

Edit: I forgot to ask a couple questions. XD

G-Defend gets printed in a magazine first, right? Which one and how often does a new chapter come about? o__o;

Lastly! Where do you prefer to purchase your G-Defend manga? XD (And Japanese or Chinese?)

eto, not sure 'bout scans...I know there are scanlations in English of vol. 1 and 2...not sure 'bout vol. three...

It's published in a monthly magazine called Ichiraci, but there won't be a new chapter till the end of October because she's been on a two month hiatus doing another short story thing...

I have volume 1-3ch5 scanlated from EoP already. ^___^ I was just hoping someone had a raw version of vol.3 so I could see the rest of vol. 3 and I was hoping someone had vol.1 so I could have the whole series so far in raw. XD

I uploaded the scanlations of volume 3 for you, since I don't have them as raws. They were done by Essence of Purity and they don't like their work being shared outside IRC, so I will delete the links immediately after you downloaded the chapters.

Well, I'm even worse: I have the Chinese raws as scans on my computer and the manga in Japanese beside my bed - but I can't read either XDD

I wish someone would continue summarizing G-Defend *sighs

Where'd you buy your Japanese volumes? I got Koori from e-bay (which was really rare. O__O I was amazed at my luck and bought it right away.) and I don't think they told me it was in Chinese.... so when I get G-Defend (in the distant future I'm sure. T__T) I'd like to get the Japanese version.

They stopped summerizing after volume 15 right and skipped ahead to volume 25 from the magazines, right? So does this mean I'll be totally confused when I look at the scans from 16-24? XD

Fortunately, I live near the town with the largest Japanese community in Germany, so ordered them at a small book store there and within a month, they were MINE. XDD
But there are a few online shops (eg. jpqueen) where you should be able to get them... on the other hand it may be better if you seek advice on that score from someone who already has experience with ordering manga from Japan, not naive me :P

Yes, you are right. But I don't think you'll be confused (at least not totally XD). It's fairly easy to find out what's going on just picture-reading XD .. and for a rough overview of the content, I looked at the event timeline at Purple Heaven.

It's good to know people are still following this community! It got so quiet for a while I wasn't even sure if anyone really cared about the summaries any more, apart from my three friends who already own all the manga in Japanese and have read more of it than I have.

I'll try to get back into the summaries, I promise!

I'm feeling quite guilty myself as I've been lurking around for - methinks - almost a year, without even commenting...

Truly, I have been meaning to get back to summarizing for a while, but other projects keep getting in the way. I think I need to take a long long at the way I do my summaries. I liked doing the detailed frame-by-frame stuff, but the process was getting so long and unwieldy that I felt discouraged at the very idea of attempting another one. Oddly, it was easier to summarize in that way when I understood less. Now it's starting to feel like line by line translation with scene descriptions.

Maybe if I do much more abbreviated summaries, I can get the project jump-started again...? The irony is that I don't want to read if I'm not summarizing, and as a result I own 29 volumes and I still haven't read past volume 16!

I'm going to spell your name with an H for the next 2 weeks.

If you do more volume summaries, I would be willing to pick up the more recent chapter summaries, now that [info]wednesday_10_00's internet access is restricted.

Right now, the problem is not so much internet access as the fact that all my manga are packed in boxes which are currently in an unknown location between LA and Chicago. I want to get started on summaries again, once my boxes get here. I just won't be able to do current chapters anymore.

*hugs* Thank you! Maybe that would be best. I've really wanted to get back to the summarizing, but it hasn't been happening. And the next month or so, my life is going to get even crazier. If you can do it, go for it.

(I believe the last summary I posted was 15.3, "The Thing You Left Behind." However, I do actually have a summary written up for 16.2, "The Dr.'s Feelings." Someone who shall remain nameless [info]dr_shino wanted it for reference material. I never posted it because I was intending to go back and do the chapters in between first. When you get to that point, maybe I can post it?)

If you get tired later on, or I get re-inspired, maybe we can spell each other.

Yay! Now I can start reading GD again!

I have a copy of vol. 1 in Chinese that is a spare. I am willing to mail it to you if you would like.

You can buy the Chinese versions for completely reasonable prices, such as less than $3/volume for used copies, from jcbooks.biz, located in Mountain View, California.

I can't see how scanlations are better than having the actual manga in your hands.

I'd love to actually own the series (Preferably in Japanese, but I can't be picky since I have all of Koori no Mamono no Monogatari in Chinese) but I don't have much money right now. ;___;

And you wouldn't have to worry about scanning. XD I can't scan manga to save my life! I take too much care of them to even threaten their binding. <---*pathetic soul* All of my manga look like they just were taken off the store bookshelf and placed on mine. XDD
