UV Reactive
I'm very interested in getting sleeves done. However, my employers would be less than pleased, making me consider alternatives to traditional tattoos. The FDA has approved it for things like marking fish, though I've read stories that this can actually shorten a fish's lifespan. I've read the warnings on UV ink, but looking for more hands on experience from people that have had it done, or artists that have used it. My roo and healing questions?
Here are some pics of my roo tattoo that I got a couple weeks ago. Art was done by me. I love how it came out, and it was my first tattoo. Its everything I could have asked for, but its been about 2 weeks now and my skin is INSANELY itchy all the time. Its kind of raised up too. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what the best suggestion is for remedies. I've tried to keep the lotion they told me to keep on it, but it doesn't seem to help much lately. I'm really trying not to mess with it but its driving me batty. I'm hoping that I'm not allergic to the ink. I know that reds are a little more allergy prone for people, but I'm not ususally an allergic person. New guy
Hi, i'm demens and live in Houston. Been in the furry fandom for about 9 years now (will be 25 in July), and I have wanted a tattoo since I was 7/8 when I saw my first one. Finally got some work done (behind cut) and spent over the course of 3 weeks a combined total of 14 hours in the chair... I'm really looking at getting more done, since ink is a disease with no cure. Anyways, it is f'n cool that this community exists, and I hope to have more pics of new stuff for you guys shortly! ( Read more... ) (4 Hour in the Chairs | Need Ink?) |

From Out of The Lurky Lurkness......
I've been a lurker, so I guess I should come out and introduce myself. :P My name is Peaches. I'm in the last month of my apprenticeship as a tattoo artist, and I'm planning to someday have my own studio to call my second home. I have 5 tattoos, 2 of which are lovingly self-inflicted. I'll have two more before I finish my apprenticeship. One of which will be a memorial piece for my friend, and the other will be an artists rite of passage tattoo into the industry. I'm not super big into piercings. I have 4 currently, and I may get another someday. Three are in my ears, and one in my tongue, which is less than a year old. I've been apprenticing for a year come the end of January. I have to say, it's been one of the hardest years of my life. I'm still learning, but with different trends in tattooing, there's always something to learn. ( Pictures, and such.... ) Current Mood: cheerful (7 Hour in the Chairs | Need Ink?) |

About Time: a Fox with Wings
Well I've been watching this community for a while now, but I never put any pictures up. I was waiting to get my second tattoo. so here is a picture of both: ( butt? )What: 1) Wolf paw 2) Crow Wings When: 1) about 2 years ago 2) got the outlines done in august and the fill in on halloween of this year. Why: 1) Wolves are my fav animal (and very sexy) I decided I'd rather have a wolf's paw on my ass than a fox paw (ie my own paw on my own ass...) 2) Crow is one of my totems (and my fav bird) yeah neither tattoo has anything to do with my fursona (Fox) but in the future (like within the next year or so) I may get something symbolic of fox me. Design help
I have had the rough idea for what I want to get as a tattoo for the past 2.5 years or so. I'm planning on going to get it within the next month and a half.
I've had 2 friends offer to draw it up for me. The first made 3 different sketches... and proceeded to lose all 3 of them while moving.
The second did one for me but the shape is fox-like, especially the head.
I'm looking for someone who can help me draw what I'm looking for. Yes, the artist could draw it up for me, but he also said he'd just make a transfer of what I had drawn if it was what I liked.
If you are at least decent at drawing and would like to help me by drawing it up for me, please let me know and I'll give you more specific details.

Permanent Paws at MFF!
Well looks like its time for another big announcement: Il be setting up to tattoo in the dealer's room at MFF this year! Here's some info for anyone looking to get work done at con: Info About Me I apprenticed in a shop up in Albany, NY last year and have been doing it on my own in my hometown since. For a sample of my work can be found at http://pics.livejournal.com/dbruin/gallery/0000d28q (I should have all my work and info on my site soon as well) How do I Sign up? Because of the work involved in tattooing (especially for custom work) I'll be taking reservations for the weekend. Contact me at dbruin@tmail.com, or PM me on Livejournal or Furaffinity with what you'd like done. If you have a picture of what you have in mind, send me a link or email it and I'll give you a qoute on price and a rough estimate on how long you'll be in the chair. What do I Need? The legal age for tattooing in the state of Illinois is 18. Therefore you will need to bring a photo I.D. With to the table. If I don't see an I.D. I can't tattoo you! Sterilization The table is going to be run the same way it would in any tattoo show. All supplies used are one time use only. Needles are thrown into a sharps box and disposed of according to Cook County health regulations. I'm using plastic tubes and grips which, like the needles will be discarded in the appropriate manner. I'll have a full supply of cleaning solutions on hand to clean the work area and supplies after each tattoo and reused equipment such as the tattoo machines and clip chords will be covered barrier tubing and bags at all times. Also, the needles, tubes, and grips will be opened and taken out of their packaging in front of the client to confirm that the supplies are brand new and completely sterile. Fox Tattoo
Hey, been a watcher for a while, finally joined. My mate wants to get a foxprint on his shoulderblade, and i was wanting to get a tattoo either on the upper arm or pec. I am a fox as well, but I was debating either a fox or a dragon, either of which "blue". Anyone have any reccomendations of design or artist? (7 Hour in the Chairs | Need Ink?) |

Tattoo Q
Hmm.. so I'm considering getting my next tattoo on my inner forearm - up as close to the elbow joint as possible. But before I go off to scope out parlors seriously and ask for consultations, I have a few questions so I can get a rough idea. The tat in question is a wild rose in front of a maple leaf with a couple leaf sprigs hanging down. It's basically a circle in general shape (vertical and horizontal roughly equal). It represents my country and province of birth. 1) How close can I actually get it to the elbow before it's too much on the stretching skin. What about *above* the joint on my inner upper arm? Right by the wrist is maybe invading upon being 'too visible'. 2) What direction should it be oriented? the top pointing towards my hand or towards my shoulder. Or maybe twisted 90 degrees to point towards or away from my body? 3) Is a forearm tat more of a 'guy' area? I've had differing feedback on that one. I do have one on my upper shoulder which is also a more manly area, but I have the option of hiding that one. This one would be pretty much always visible. (4 Hour in the Chairs | Need Ink?) |
