How does the community work?:
Every month there are sign-ups. These sign-up periods usually last for about a week. To sign up, all you have to do is copy the form provided in the monthly sign-up post and paste it with the proper information as a comment to that month's sign-up entry. Once the sign-up period has ended, sign-ups are then closed for the month and emails will be sent out to participants with information on which member's card they will be drawing for that month.
What is considered an "artcard" here?:
An artcard is almost like a conbadge. It's a smaller, and typically less detailed drawing that usually features a head or torso shot of a character, though full body drawings CAN also be done in these smaller sizes. Generally artcards are about 3x5 inches, which is the size of a standard index card. If you're more comfortable drawing on something a little larger than this, that's alright, but try not to exceed 4x6 inches.
Are all media allowed?:
Yes. The use of real media is more strongly encouraged, but we won't turn you away if you're a digital artist. If you work in digital media, then you're more than welcome to participate in the exchange with us, though your partner may request that you make a print of the image for them. Also, please be sure your images are sized at about 3x5 inches or so.
Rules:
* Your art must be of a decent quality. That doesn't mean that if you're a beginner you're not welcome here. It means that you must try your best and present your work neatly and on good quality paper. NO lined paper! NO sketches! Please color neatly!
* Absolutely NO rudeness! This can include personal opinions based on someone's choice of media, art style, character designs, ect. Please be respectful of your fellow members at all times!
* ONE card per person per month! You may only sign up for one card every month.
* NO promotions! Please do not use this community for promotions. We want to keep this community for trading art cards only and appreciate your cooperation with this.
* NO X-rated images! You may request a nude drawing of your character (but you MUST place the image under a cut and label it as "not safe for work/school"), but anything sexually oriented is not allowed. This means no displays of sexual activity, masturbation, adult toys, expulsion of fluids, ect. If you have questions concerning what is considered to be X-rated, please feel free to contact the maintainers.
* You MUST finish your card by the due date! If you do not finish your card by the due date, you will be placed on a blacklist. Once on this list, you will not be allowed to participate in future sign-ups. Once you finish your assignment, however, you will be relieved of that blacklisting and will be allowed to participate again. In the event that you KNOW you will not be able to present your card by the due date, you are welcome to request an extension. This will keep you off the blacklist so long as your request is reasonable and you honor it.
* Your artcards must be for YOU! Please do not request characters for anyone other than yourself.
