| Acting Out |
[May. 12th, 2009|03:05 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | pensive | ] | Hey, y'all.
Just wanted to share one of the readings from last Sunday's Mass:
"When [Saul] arrived in Jerusalem he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple. Then Barnabas took charge of him and brought him to the apostles, and he reported to them how on the way he had seen the Lord and that he had spoken to [Him], and how in Damascus he had spoken out boldly in the name of Jesus. He moved about freely with them in Jerusalem, and spoke out boldly in the name of the Lord. He also spoke and debated with the Hellenists, but they tried to kill him. And when the brothers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him on his way to Tarsus." [Acts 9: 26-30, NASB]
Peace... |

| A-MAZE-ing Grace |
[Apr. 12th, 2009|03:09 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | contemplative | ] | Hey, y'all.
¡Feliz Pascua! Or, "Happy Easter!" for those without subtitles on. *chuckles*
Even after partying at the Skiltaire last night, I found myself waking up early this morning, in time for the 7:45 AM (PDT) sunrise Mass at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church. So, I decided to check that off my list for the day. I usually attend the 5:00PM Mass; I don't think I've been to a sunrise Mass since...jeez, high school, maybe?
Needless to say, it was a packed church, such that the cantor informed the parishioners that the same Mass was also being held in the adjacent hall, for those that couldn't find seats in the pews. Mass pretty much went like any other Mass, except that, at one point, they brought out bowls of holy water, and we were all directed to come up to a bowl, and baptize ourselves. Seriously. The priest, Father Kim (who visits when not studying in Washington, D.C.), said they started this tradition last year. I was not practicing at the time, so this was new and interesting.
One thing I want to share with y'all are some photos. Now, I went to St. Angela's on Holy Saturday, in hopes of doing Confession. While it appeared it wasn't being held that day, it did give me a chance to walk the labyrinth out in the plaza. Now, don't think of a confusing garden maze, or one of those scary Halloween mazes at the theme parks. No, this labyrinth is this simple round path painted on the pavement the church had drawn just before Lent. According to the accompanying flyers, labyrinths are not meant to confuse people, but to allow them to contemplate. So, I slowly walked it, thinking about recent events and such. At the center of the labyrinth was this large, black stone pot. Throughout the Lenten season, there have been bamboo stalks, or palm fronds. On Holy Saturday, however, there was just an empty urn. Fast-forward to Easter Sunday, and there are now charred palm tree pieces, and a sign that says, "New Easter Fire". Inside today's bulletin, they showed that they lit the urn during last night's Easter Vigil.
So yeah, I didn't have any sort of epiphany at the labyrinth...but a moment to reflect was nice. I snapped some photos, and I posted them here: St. Angela Merici
One thing Father Kim said to the congregation before we left: he said we should all make hard choices today. Oh, trust me, y'all, I've made plenty of those already...and I'm sure I ain't done yet. *sighs*
That's it from me. Peace out, and God Bless! |

I was just notified tonight that my older brother Pete was rushed to the hospital yesterday with cardiac arrest, and they've diagnosed him with blockage of the veins and arteries of the heart, too many to try stents. They have to take him into the OR for open-heart surgery. They don't have a specific time yet for the surgery, but it will be soon.
I would like some prayer support for him, if you will. I would heartily appreciate it. Thanks. |

| The Gates Won't Open Up For Me... |

| [ | mood |
| | confused | ] | Hey, y'all.
I hate to sound like a bother, but I haven't been able to login to furrsfurchrist.com.
I think I may have made a mistake trying to register at the forum. I filled out the registration link. Next, I went to the "Membership Application" forum and tried to post there. However, when I went to fill out the application, it asks for a username. I try to use the one that I registered with (Phoenix Audubon), but it keeps saying, "We're sorry, this username has been taken." If I try to login with that username, however, it says that I "have entered an invalid username or password."
I signed up back in November 2008. I have tried several attempts to contact an Admin via e-mail, but as of today, I have received no response.
If someone could look into this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, and God Bless. |

| The site should be back up soon |
[Nov. 11th, 2008|08:27 am] |
I borrowed some money and paid for the amount. It just kinda snuck up on me this time. But I'm going to set up a donation page once the site is back up and with $70 as the grand total for the year to keep the ffc and furmagination up then a small donation here or there would go along way.
Thanks Guys for your offers. The server I have it very good as long as I pay for it -_0
Peace, -Razi |

| I'm Sorry Guys!!! |
[Nov. 10th, 2008|12:30 pm] |
So Yes The Site went down my bad.
I'm going to get it back up and I will need to set up a donation page pronto because even though it is a good deal it's become too expensive for me.
Right now I am trying to pay the current invoice but I've had to contact support.
The cost of the server is $60 a year. (we have unlimited bandwidth and storage with this) The Cost of the Domain is $10 a year.
If anyone wants to do an emergency donation they can send it to my Paypay account at creation-warrior@homtail.com
I'm also sorry guys for neglecting this live journal community.
Peace, -Razi |

| God's very best |

At the last men’s Bible study at my church, a portly fellow by the name of Ron Olzak really zinged me, really reminded me of something I’ve been failing to do. He asked me, “Do you think it’s wrong to ask God to give you His very best?” When he said that, I could definitely feel the Holy Spirit in my heart hopping up and down and bouncing all over the place, yelling, “Hear the man! He’s saying what I’m saying!” There’s nothing I can say against it. It’s got a basis in scripture: If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! — Matthew 7:11 I walked out of that Bible study knowing that I had learned the Lesson of the Week. And I was determined to start praying it. But it’s not as easy as saying, “Lord, I would like to receive the very best You have to offer me.” My heart rebels, saying, “I’m not ready for it.” Why the heck not? My heart balked, failing to give an explanation. It’s getting really easy to tell the lies from the truth anymore. The lies come into my heart, feel good and sensible, but when pressed for an explanation, fail to give one. False guilt, for instance, says I should be ashamed of myself, and my gullible heart always falls for it, but it never gives an explanation why. I guess the first thing I need to ask God for is boldness, to remind me that I am His child and therefore entitled to ask Him for stuff, including “His very best.” |

| | curious | ] | I know how dangerous this post probably is, but I'm gonna give it a try anyway. I'm curious just how many Furries there are in the Southeast Louisiana area. I've only met one other, and I'm sure there are more.
So how about it, any others out there in this area? Know anybody in this area that is?
It's part curiosity and part interest in meeting other furs IRL.
I'll be on Xposting this to a few other Furry LJ communities just to see who responds. |

| Happy Rebirthday |
[May. 27th, 2007|01:53 am] |
|
Tomorrow is the 33rd anniversary of the day I walked down the center aisle of the Carrollton Baptist Temple in Carrollton, OH to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
I don't think there is an anniversary that I have neglected more. The day had just totally dropped right off my radar. In fact, I would not know the exact date had I not stepped backward through the calendar of my Palm IIIxe. I knew it was the last Sunday in May 1973.
There is no scriptural basis for celebrating one's rebirthday. No apostles ever celebrate their conversion. I don't know if I should feel guilty about not celebrating my rebirthday. If anything, I feel better about not celebrating. Doing so would take the focus off of what Jesus did and put it on what I did. That's just not kosher.
It's also pointless. To God, years are just infinitesmal little flyspecks in the whole of eternity. It's pointless to count the years, because this is eternal life we're talking about. No number applies. |
