| New volunteer fursuiting group looking for members! |

Best Paw Forth is now accepting membership! We're a Texas-based volunteer mascotting group, and we're looking for new members! You don't have to live in Texas to join, though, so long as you refer back to us after volunteer events and the like. So we're open to all sorts! There are just one simple guideline you have to follow, if you're interested in joining: no speaking in suit except to your handlers, if we're at a volunteer event.
Anyway! If you're interested in joining, we need both handlers and suiters. Just fill out the following information and eMail it to me (bestpawforth@hotmail.com):
* your real name
* where you live
* a bit about yourself
* the name of the character(s) you play
* a bit about the character(s) you play
* one good photo of the character(s) you play
* sample video of the character(s) you play (optional but helpful)
* any additional information you'd like to include
Most of that info is for the bio on the webpage, if you get accepted. :3 -nod- As another note, our first gig is coming up in April so it'd be great to get some new members by then. As of now, we only have two suiters and a handler (who will soon be a suiter).

| Cheap ref sheet commissions, and others! |

I'm saving up for something I reeeeally want right now, and if two more people commission a ref sheet from me I'll have enough to buy it. :D My ref sheets are good for normal refs, or are perfect for if you're commissioning a fursuit anytime soon (3 views, no clothes). However, for anyone who wants to help me out and doesn't have $10-25 to spend on a ref, I also offer much cheaper things:
100x100 icon: $5 (includes 500x500 and 100x100) - no example
MSPaint or photoshop (your choice) headshot: $5 - no example
Colored MSPaint pic: $10 - example
Inked bust-shot photoshop pic: $5 - no example
Colored bust-shot photoshop pic: $8 - example
Inked full-body photoshop pic: $12 - example

You MUST have some sort of visual to get any art from me, and I don't do mature art or equines. I guarantee the picture finished within a week, usually sooner unless I'm really busy with school. | Anthrocon 2008 Conbook Seeks Art And Writing Submissions |

Attention artists and writers! Anthrocon is currently seeking submissions for our 2008 conbook.
The Anthrocon 2008 conbook is a great opportunity to showcase your work. We are currently seeking submissions of artwork, fiction, photography, and articles for publication. We welcome any submissions of most any nature, although priority may be given to works that complement the theme of the convention, 'It's a Jungle Out There.' Submissions should be in the 'G' to 'PG-13' rating.
Anthrocon is also having a drawing for everyone who submits material to the convention book. The prize? Nothing less than an 'honorary' Super-Sponsorship! You will get all the Super-Sponsor perks: Shorter registration line, Convention T-shirt, a super-sponsor only meal with our guests of honor, and a special gift that only the super-sponsors receive. This package is valued at $175.00.
Remember, your submission (and release form) must be received no later than April 30, 2008 to be eligible for the drawing. Winners will be randomly selected on May 1, 2008. The winners will be notified by e-mail (or snail-mail, if an e-mail address is not available) immediately after the drawing is held.
Members of the Anthrocon Board of Directors are not eligible for this drawing, but everyone else is welcome. If the winner already has purchased a membership, the alternate prize offered will be a free upgrade to super-sponsor status. Prizes may not be applied against future years, and must be claimed for the 2008 convention.

Pointing out the positive press furries get is a thankless job, but someone's gotta do it. So I guess I will.
Rocky Mountain Fur Con got mentioned not once but twice in the news last month.
On another note, LatinVixen's video featuring a bunch of fursuiters dancing around an Escalade (I assume at MFF last year) made it onto BoingBoing, The Directory Of Wonderful Things.
And this just in, a brief mention of furries at Walt Disney World. The Orlando theme park has added costumed characters to promote the movie Ratatouille, which opens in theaters June 29th. |
