New Support Status Bar
You'll notice that we've finally removed the old Support Project Bar at the top of every page, and we've replaced it with the new 3-month contribution status bar. All funds we receive for ad banners, contributing memberships and just plain beneficial donations from great folks who can spare it will go into the bar to show you all at a glance where we're at for funding. One thing to note is that our data center bill is due on the 15th of each month, so when a bar says "September" for example, it means for the payment due on Sept 15. We've got less than 3 weeks right now to cover around $300 for the September bill. I covered all of the August bill myself since we've been a little behind in getting some of this support system implemented. So this is it. FurBuy lives or dies by the donations of its users. I've personally contributed over $50,000 to this project over the last 10 years, which includes the hardware and network fees, not to mention countless hours devoted to writing and upgrading the code and the site layout and dealing with user issues. I think 10 years is a pretty good run, and honestly at this point I'm more or less willing to see if it can fly on it's own or this is the end of the project. If the users can foot the bill, I'll continue to maintain and develop it for everyone - but if I have to continue carrying the burden of cost as well then I'd just as soon let it go. I would like to be living in a house, I should have been in one by now but I've had this labor of love for the art community. FurBuy has some new sister sites going live soon that may help foot the bill, especially in the long term, but we really desperately need some financial backing from the FurBuy community right now. If you don't have the cash but have a little time, we also welcome folks to run auctions where a portion is donated to FurBuy or the first $18 goes toward your own contributing membership or the like. Let's get those donation bars filled up! =) Thanks again to everyone for helping to make FurBuy the community that it is today. And don't ever hesitate to comment here or send us your feedback in e-mail, IMs, PMs on FurAffinity, whatever is convenient for you. We truly do appreciate people's thoughts and feedback and the more we get the better we make the site and more enthused we are to continue running it. |

Unplanned Downtime
Just a quick note that FurBuy is currently down due to an unplanned server outage. We are working with the provider to bring things back online ASAP. If the outage lasts longer than 8 hours, we will extend all auctions by 24 hours, except where requested by sellers. |

Only 12 hrs left!

FurBuy Status
Just another reminder that FurBuy has ad banner slots available. And they are very reasonably priced. We have sold NONE of our 8 auction footer slots for the month and only 3 of the 12 homepage slots for August. We really need some more support in order to keep FurBuy running, if this is how things are going then it's almost certainly doomed. =/ So please, buy a banner slot, or tell your friends, help keep FurBuy afloat! As an added incentive, if you buy a banner for September, I'll give you the rest of August for FREE. =) Also of note, we are now taking Contributing Membership donations to help support the site and server fees, in addition to a number of extra features for members.
