Hey everyone,
Sorry I dropped off the face of the earth. I had a really bad emotional thing happen and I am still recovering. I have been trying to piece my soul back together through sims 3 and just relaxing. Art will come in time.

In similar news, I will be retaking my Algebra class because I had failed it. This is my last chance or am expelled from college.

To make things even "better" I am in Default on my mortgage.

I will try to get back to doing art again soon.

Darkclaw is flying back to the U.K. today. Even though he was staying in Ohio with friends, we found time to talk (and play WoW) while he was here.

I miss him terribly. AC was so wonderful this year with him. No stress, and lots of good times to share and enjoy between our stints at our various "jobs."

I <3 my wolf.

These kittens are 3 months old, same age as Nimai when I found him. They seem a little bigger (and higher-jumping) than I remember him being at that age. They were almost killed at the pound! We are all lucky they narrowly avoided that.

Here are some fresh videos.

Jul. 11th, 2009 @ 11:01 am Getting in the mood to draw
Tags: ,
I don't know if any of my other artist friends have this problem, but I need to get in a certain mindset to begin drawing. Usually music helps with this. However other auditory things hinder it. Screaming children really don't help. Kera has this habit of screaming at the top of her lungs whenever anything upsets her. Having the TV on really doesn't help much at all. Having people upset around me doesn't help either.
Today I hope to get the right atmosphere for doing art.

Sounds like kittens are going to Tokyo next weekend, where someone has agreed to adopt them. I'm sure they will be excellent and wonderful cats! Melody is less independent, more cuddly, louder purring, more fragile-seeming (smaller and got ringworm much worse). Valerie is more independent but still friendly (she keeps me company at the computer by sleeping on the desk rather than on my lap), more adventurous. She is plenty cuddly but they will probably both be less cuddly and purr-filled as adults; I think all cats are. Both of them are picky about having their litter box kept clean. Compared to when they first came, they are bigger, better at using the litter box, more fungus-infested (but in all likelihood Melody had it already and it just wasn't noticeable yet), and less prone to fluffing up their tails at every little thing. Melody is also a little more vocal, I think.

Nimai and I will miss them, but I am making out like a bandit, really--I got to spend several weeks with intensely adorable kittens without making the commitment to keep them for 10-20 years, and as a kitten foster I can have kittens every year, whereas if I adopted kittens for myself I could only have them at intervals of several years if I didn't want to drown in cats. Grown cats are awesome and beautiful and I love Nimai, but kittens are cuddlier and purr more and get a baby-animal bonus when they roll for cuteness (I guess that is like a +15 to charisma).

Ok, I wanted to add a few words before Jassy (OMG!!!!!!) arrives and I go off to play all day.

First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY [info]synnabar! Hope its a good one, Stnn ^^!

Next,
Despite of my last panic, I really AM having a LOT of fun and a very very good vacation. Aside of some mild drama, and despite of doing poorly sales wise, I really had a blast at AC!

I'm having so much fun here too, and I've almost missed the area and culture around here (don't get me wrong, Florida is beautiful and hilly, but PA has SO MANY MORE TREES AND HILLS.)

I did get to go to a few of my favorite places, including a Farmer's market called Green Dragon (fondly dubbed "Gooney Mart" by my family) and got delicious things. There's this giant Dragon statue that stands out at the road for it that used to be a parade float. I'll have to post pics of that later.

I also got a well needed haircut and even more needed glasses (awesomely paid for by my mom!!!)

My Magic the Gathering related geekiness has just reached an all new plateau. I spent the first half of this weekend tuning up and sorting through all the deck's I've created and putting them into individual boxes and labelling them clearly... There's 48 different themed decks.

I'm such a geek.

So I thought it was odd that the extra classes today covered topics we had already covered to death, and it turned out they were optional review for people who still didn't get those topics, not mandatory attendance-affecting classes. So I stayed through the first one and worked on my summer break assignment, and then I went and got lunch at Cafe Prana. I had intended to get the tofu donburi, but it doesn't start until 2, so I got the big set with curry:

Everything was good except that I didn't care for the little thing with corn in it, or the bowl o' mushrooms. I couldn't eat them all. Mushrooms are vile. I do not feel like I am missing out on them at all.

Now I have time to do the kittens' laundry. I think my human laundry will wait for tomorrow.

And here is something from Cafe Millet )

If you had to tighten your budget (or already have), what would be the easiest thing to cut?

View other answers

I made significant spending cuts in 2008 and I carried over most of those cuts to this year. It's part of getting older. Every year, I find more things that I can do without. At this rate, by the time I'm 90, I could live in a cave and think it's a grand time. :)

I cut Postcrossing back in May after the postal rate hike. I decided I could no longer ignore the stamp cost. This was actually a pretty easy item to cut. I'd already done everything I wanted to do in this hobby and I now have a big collection of postcards, including the first Postcrossing card from Tuvalu.

If I had to cut spending further now, I'd look into one of these:
* Toilet paper because I could always use my.... uhh, never mind! :)
* Trips to Long Island / NYC. Round trip bridge tolls are at least $14.
* Graphic novels. Not that I was ever a big spender in this area but I found out that with the newly-expanded multi-county library system, I can now get those through interlibrary book request. Special thanks to whoever donated a set of Transmetropolitan to the Millburn library.
* Conventions. Even though I attend only two a year now, these have to be the biggest expense for which there is no critical need. And it's not like I don't see my friends at other venues at other times of the year.

Fuck Geico, Fuck the people who take care of my renter's insurance, and FUCK FUCK FUCK Paypal. Seriously.

Another company handles my renter's insurance through Geico. It took -30 MINUTES- to get someone who could give me an answer and do something about why they AUTOMATICALLY charged my account when I NEVER signed up for automatic payments. I NEVER do. So because they did, my FL bank account is now NEGATIVE. I finally managed to charge it back, but it's still negative by something rediculous like $2. I went to transfer money through both of my Paypals, since both are on different bank accounts. the FL Paypal is FROZEN for WHOTHEFUCKKNOWS. I can't even get to my bank in FL until Tuesday. So I'm sure instead of being $2 in the hole, I'll be more like $100. Wonderful. Because I have money to spend. Terriffic.

ANYWAY. In attempts to save my ass because I did shitty at AC, I'm selling a good majority of plushies, and Breyers. I'm going to be listing the plushies on SUNDAY, so if you want to buy any of them, speak up now. I know there are a good rare and HTF few in there, as well as some MLP plush and Disney stuff. Please make me a reasonable offer, not including shipping costs.

Yes, I can still take paypal...and cash...and checks...and whatever.

I still have totem decks...

I have ornaments....

....and sculptures....

...and Artwork....

....and...STUFF?

....Badge commission...?
