Kagen no Tsukiyo no Monotagari Summary
'Allo everyone! I am big fan of Fujiyama Hyouta and I would love to contribute anything I can.. I translated the summary for "Kagen no Tsukiyo no monotagari" found on the back of the book. Feel free to make corrections. I'm a little bit too lazy at the moment to find better ways of wording things in English...I might make edits later...

"I wish to find someone with whom I can have a pure love with". After Ryuka makes this wish on the waning moon, Ikusuto--a man with the energy of the waning mood--appears. He tells Ryuka that he will grant his wish...BUT, all the people that Ryuka can choose from are men...Although Ryuka is furious, he finds himself caught in the flow as he falls under Ikusuto's spell. And so, as they fall in love Ryuka starts a journey of youth...This is a richly told tale <3 The popular comic fantasy story of men's hardship has come!*

Yep, so there's my pathetic translation. =) Well, at least we get the jist of what's going on now though, ya? ^^ Feel free to make comments, corrections, etc =D.

I DO want to ask everyone's opinion on name choice though. In straight katakana translations, the names would be Ryuka and Ikusuto. Does anyone have an opinion about how these names would be romaji-nized?? I was thinking maybe Luca or Lyuca for Ryuka, but I have no idea what to do for Ikusuto. Let me know what you guys think!

And if it's ok with ai_su, can I use your scans to work on translations of the manga? Of course, I'll credit you for the lovely scans! =D

These are the names I was planning on using -

イクスト Ixst/Ikust
リュカ Luca
クーン Kuhn
キムリック Cymric - it's a kind of cat, apparently
アルディン テイムルス Aldin Teimurus
ラル Lal
タツミ Tatsumi
クイン Quin
カプル Kapur
ゼン セルガル Zen Sergal
タガト Tagato

Katakana names are just plain annoying (and/or fudged lol). But that's my best shot... personally I think Ixst looks cooler, but who knows if that's what Fujiyama-sensei was going for (btw, I'm pretty sure it's Ikusuto, right?)

...On another note, want to help translate this particular work for Bliss? XD. We'd sell our souls for Japanese translators, and well... less work for me is always a good thing lol.

Forgot one (probably more than that, since new characters appear in this book one after the other lol)

ロウファ Roufa

(Tatsumi's seme lol XD. Another suggestion for this one was Lawfa/Lawfer, but I thought that was too much of a stretch and decided to just leave it as the direct romanization.)

But any input from the rest of the community would be awesome~ Or a vote on which names sound nicer, because sometimes that's how we decide which ones to use *cough* lol.

Names
I think your list of name translations looks great so far!! =D

As for イクスト, Ixst DOES look really cool and I like it a lot more than Ikust. haha, but would people know how to pronounce it? That's what I'm wondering. But, I'm totally up for Ixst if everyone else likes it too! =D It gives it more of the "fantasy"feeling that I think sensei is going for...

Re: Names
I kind of just gave up on thinking of a more phonetic way to romanize it... I learned from experience that google is the best way to go with katakana names (that's actually how I found the romanization Ixst... I wouldn't have thought of that myself ._.')

But meh, close enough XD? It's less confusing than putting Ikusuto at least... lol. My main concern is Roufa/Lawfer - both sound/look alright, so... ^^;

And thanks for your compliments! We have to admit, we're pretty darn slow ourselves, so whatever pace you're able to work at should be fine lol.

As for whether we've started, kind of, not really XD; (I'm supposed to be translating, but when you have 3 other projects to translate and a billion other to proof, scan, and clean, some projects kind of get put to the side... XD). And not to mention we're getting ready for a release of massive proportions (*cough including all of Junjou v2 cough* lol), so I have my hands tied.

...Anyway, enough with the bad excuses ._.' It'll save me some trouble if ai_su allows us to use her scans for translation purposes only (we'll send you lots of love <3 lol), but if not I'll scan my own version and do some quick cleaning so that you can use it to trans. And the rest we can discuss via e-mail (Bliss.Scanlations@gmail.com), since this post is becoming an advertisement >_>' (sorry guys! lol)

Bliss Translations
Oops! haha, yeah it is ikusuto. My bad, I was saying the name in my head and it came out ekusuto for some reason. I'll edit that.

yay! Bliss! I was wondering if you guys were going to pick up Kagen...It was thanks to you guys that I've fallen in love with Fujiyama-sense's work! Thanks so much for the scanlations on Fujiyama-sensei's previous works! <3 I would LOVE to translate for you guys! I'm not crazy fluent in Japanese though so I might be a little slow but I'll try my best!! Let me know~! Have you guys started already?

Hi! WELCOME here! (^_^)/

I am so happy to read you post! Thank you so much for the summary! I was really curious about the storyline but i can't read Japanese.
You are my saviour! m(*_*)m

The story seems very interesting just like her other ones! I really like Fujiyama Sensei's storytelling. And this manga seems unique because it has a fantasy feeling.

btw I don't want to be greedy, but sometimes could you tell us about what Sensei is writing on her blog?

And what's your favourite of her works?

Have a really nice day!
*chuu*

Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed the post! I'm really excited for Kagen too!!

As for my fav Fujiyama Hyouta work--I LOVE Hitomi no Ounowa...Too bad it's not finished...T_T I wonder if it ever will be.

Haha, no worries about the blog thing. I'll take a look at it and see what I can do. Translating is best form of procrastinating for me...=D
kurokagami[info]kurokagami on May 7th, 2008 07:56 am (UTC)
Hitomi is actually still running in the Rutile magazine~ Sensei said on her blog that it'll still be a while before the tanko version of volume 3 comes out, but at least we know its coming XD.

Apparently people have been asking her if there will be a Drama CD for Junjou (I've honestly been wondering the same thing ever since it came out... same for Hitomi XD). She says there aren't any plans for one as of now, but hopes that there will be in the future.

And then I stopped reading because I got lazy lol. Maybe if she posts anything else interesting I'll help report XD;

*gasp*!!! OMG more Hitomi!! I'm so excited! Thanks for the news! XD I had already given up all hope lol...I'm so excited! And I really would love more BL dramas off of Fujiyama-sensei's work!! =D

Thank you for the blog-translation. I've read it! You are very good at Japanese!

My favourite is Honki ja Neekara. (You know, i didn't like yaoi in the past. More correctly i hated it. But in September 2007 i read Hokni ja Neekara by Sensei and absolutely fell in love with her style and story.) Now i am a big BL fan thans to her.

Haha it sounds cool. Almost sound likes a fantasy if it was set in historical time.
