Hello all,

my name is Troy and I am a 22 (soon to be 23) year old gay transguy living just outside of Salem Oregon. I am currently a student studying my 6th year of college (I maintain that finishing in 4 years is like leaving the party at 9) and doing a double degree in accounting as well as management information systems with minors in computer science and communication. Someday I would like to have my own business dealing with landscape and pond design.

I currently work for Oregon State University (thats right we are the Beavers heh) and work for pay as a support tech and not for pay with a few of the LGBT organizations on campus.

I have been on testosterone for 16 months now and had top surgery with Dr. Fischer on December 12 2006. I hope to in the next two years be looking at bottom surgery.

I joined this community to get the opinions of other men land also to network with them.

Hysto

Hey guys. I don't remember if I introduced myself or not:

My name is Emiry. I am 25 and live in Vermont. I have been on T for 1.5 years and had Peri with Fischer 1 year ago.

At this point I feel as though I don't want to go through an invasive surgery if it's not neccesary. My doc told me that a hysto isn't neccesarilly vital for ftms, however it is very important to get regular check ups of that area (because of the increased risk for cancer).

Just wondering what others sentaments are on the matter.

sustanon

I was reading Jess's post and I to sometimes tire of the shots I do weekly now but would love to use the gel if I wasn't so unsure it would work. Some of the UK trannies use sustanon and I wonder if that will ever be available in the US also there is another combo T and it is admin 1x a month 4ml thats a lot but once a month also not an option in the US. SOme dudes get the small incision in the glute and get the pellets every 3 months. If it was 2x a year that might be worth it but I don't want to get sliced 4 times a year. I have had a hysto but my doc doesnt give a crap about my "levels" pre or post said it doesn't matter really. Does anyone know why sustanon isnt available in the US, I am guessing it is a pharmaceutical stand off, money money money

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

This community is moderated--it is important that membership be moderated and only those who live and identify full-time as male be approved as members. This keeps the space safe, specific, and running smoothly. It isn't easy to determine who to approve and who to decline--when I am unsure, I err on the side of caution and decline. As noted in the community user info, I am happy to receive emails from people who think I have declined their request to join in error. When e-mailing me, please answer the following questions:

1. What is your LJ username? (this will help me reference an earlier request)
2. Were you born and/or raised female?
3. Do you live and identify as male full-time?
4. Have you taken measures to transition socially or do you plan to?
5. Have you taken measures to transition physically or do you plan to?

Please note that hostile emails will only result in a permanent decision to decline your request for membership. If you cannot be mature and respectful in an email to the moderator, you are unlikely to be respectful to others in this community.

If no information is available in your userinfo, I will decline you because I am not a mind-reader. I need to know that a) everyone in this community was born and/or raised female and b) everyone in this community identifies as male full time and either lives that way or is taking steps to live that way.

Some general information:

This community is not for newbie questions or posts. If you are starting T and you want to share or have questions, please direct these posts to ftm, _ftm_, startingt, etc. Please take a moment to read the userinfo before posting to this community--while men who are early in their transition process(es) are accepted as members of this community, this space is primarily for people who are beyond the initial transition stuff and living full-time as men. Questions like "how much do I inject?" and "what size binder should I get?" are not appropriate for this community. Announcements like, "I just started T today!! WOO HOO!" are not appropriate for this community. Yes, we're all excited for you, but this isn't the place for those kind of announcements or discussions.

Cross-posting is not allowed. Directly copying posts or comments made by others in this community and pasting them outside of the community is completely unacceptable and will result in immediate and permanent removal from this community.

Do not speak for others. Use "I" statements whenever possible.

All posts to ftmen must be made friends-only, or the moderator will delete them immediately without notice. You should feel free to repost these entries friends-only if they have been deleted

Introductions are mandatory. Feel free to lurk once you've made your introduction, but if you don't introduce yourself, you will be removed from this community. The intro isn't to "prove" that you belong, but rather to let other guys know who is in this community and who is reading their posts and comments. Also, all intros are saved as friends-only memories. If you wonder who else is here, feel free to read the intros.

If you are disrespectful to others, you will be removed from this community. Examples of disrespect to other members include name-calling, public mockery, threats, etc. If it becomes clear that you don't live full-time as male, you will be removed from this community. That is not to say that you should censor yourself, but this community is very specific, and there are several communities that include a broader definition of "FTM". This one isn't it. If, after reading this, you realize you don't fit the description--please do not request to join this community. It's not that we don't like you, it's that this space needs to be safe for those of us who do identify and live full-time as men.

Your must be over 16 to join this community.

Picture posts are encouraged--appropriate pictures include surgery photos, masculinization photos, etc. Don't post pictures of other people without their permission. Naked photos of genitals are appropriate; sexually explicit photos (masturbating, engaging in sex with others, etc) are not (please direct these to ftmundressed). All photos must be placed behind an lj-cut. If the photos are not work safe, let us know before we click on them.

This space is also drama-free. If you create drama and/or treat other members with disrespect, you'll be removed from the community immediately.

Welcome to FtMen. This is a community for people who were female born and/or raised but who now live as men. This community is only for those who were female born who now identify as male and have pursued or are actively pursuing steps to solidify that identity either socially, physically or both.

This community does not intend to make any judgments about people who don't fit within this model and acknowledges and appreciates the nuances that exist within all genders. This community does not require that members be gender normative, but it is not the right space for people who fluctuate between male and female identities. Rather, it is a community for those of us who live full-time as men. Men of all sexual orientations are welcomed.

Possible discussion topics include, but are not limited to:
-dating
-disclosure/non-disclosure
-employment
-marriage
-surgery (chest reconstruction, hysterectomy, genital modification and/or reconstruction, other related surgeries)
-sex
-hormones

Membership requires moderator approval.
