Have a drawing of Fox and Collin languishing on your hard drive? Been aching to show the world that Leslie/Derringer/Fox fanfic you wrote, Zombie Shakespeare? Got the photo to prove that you really did make a Fatima-themed cake for your friend's birthday? Well, here's your chance to win stuff with your stunning creativity!

From now until Episode 550 of Friendly Hostility, you can enter the Hostile Takeover fan contest. Send your drawings, fic, cosplay photos, and other fanprojects to "contest at buhfly dot com," where I will choose the entry that I like the most (or, if there are an awful lot of entries and I can't decide, the top three) and...well, declare it the winner, I guess, and send 'em a prize.

My favorite fanworks will be archived on the Friendly Hostility site, along with your pen name and a link to your site. And hey, just because it doesn't make it onto the site? That doesn't mean I don't like it. I just have a limited amount of space. :)

The Prize
One winner will get a color print of their one favorite character, plus a guest spot in the comic (if you want), plus a package of Stuff I Think Is Cool. In the case that there are two runners-up, each will receive a drawing of their favorite character and a small package of Stuff I Think Is Cool. Winners will also be announced here and on the FH site.

Can we submit more than one entry?
Yes. You can submit up to three entries of any sort.

In what format should our entries be?
I prefer .jpg, .gif, and .png for images, .doc or .txt for fiction [or if you've posted it to your journal, I wouldn't mind a link to that page], uh, .mp3 for music. Though that last one's a long shot, probably, but hey, at least my bases are covered.

Wait, so we can write fanfic?
Yeah, sure, knock yourself out.

Any fanfic?
Any fanfic, any rating, any content – well, almost. Let's face it, I can buy the weirdest of pairings and situations, but if you go totally off the wall with characterization (like "The Demon commits suicide!"), it's probably not going to be winning this contest or my affection. Characterization is key, after all, and I'd love to see a well-written story. I think you all can be smart enough to keep characterization even in off-the-wall Fatima/Charlotte-esque fics.

Oh, and if you are going to be posting your fanfic on your site or on your journal, please be nice enough to remember the "I don't own these characters" disclaimer, and it'd be really sweet of you to throw in a link to the actual comic.

Any tips on winning?
Well, I like creativity. It doesn't have to be the best art in the world, say, but if the concept is funny or unique, I'll like it. :)
