Good morning, hostiles. Happy Monday. :)

o Fatima enjoys John Updike's novels. He's never been to my taste, personally.

o And another episode of "Things Sandra draws in the background that get blocked by objects/people/etc." In panel 2, Fatima has a framed print of Hera putting the eyes of Argus onto the peacock.

o Kokopelli statue in the hallway behind Nefertari.

o I'm never allowed to ink comics late at night. Ever.

o Ah, the tact of youth. Thank you, Collin.

is Kailen wearing a belly shirt already??

and I love the fact that Collin is so much a part of the family that Nefertari talks about him like her own son. "Watch the boys." Not "Watch Kailen and Collin." Not "Watch Kailen and his friend." No, "the boys". Yey.

And I love how horrified Fatima looks at the idea of her mother "just" being a homemaker (there's nothing wrong with that as long as it's our choice, but that's not the point).

Nope, not a belly shirt. Belly shirts aren't really his thing.

Yes. :) The boys. She likes Collin.

Fatima's at that age where everything her parents do is wrong.

I agree about the "just homemaker" thing. if that's what you want, it fits with the feminist ideals. if it involves giving something up because somebody says you have to, it doesn't.

p.s., Sandra, where is that thing that could find old episodes of BMB? Like, you'd click a name or type a phrase? I want to look at the episodes that had the Maharassas in them.

Not sure; it stopped being updated sometime last summer, and all the links kept pointing to the keenspace site and were thus broken. I think the webmistress took it down.

Out of curiosity, how do you ink the comic?

Gel ink pens--but I'm picky. I only use the Pentel brand. The others have a tendency to clump.

Thank you. :)

once, during the days of BmB, i wandered to the links page and discovered that you loved the art style of a certain comic...
My Life In Blue.
i wandered over there today, to discover that Zan (the agreeable) has started updating again. wheee! and no, i am not naked, unfotunately. the boys in the comic are!
just thought id let you know, so you could wander over and check the new comics, if you indeed still like the art style and all.

have fun and enjoy.

hooray for Argus the peacock and Kokopelli! very cool touch.(es.)

is it just me, or do the characters look better drawn from the side? after wandering to your link page, i sauntered to the cast page... and the collins and kailens in the comics are cuter than the frontal-drawn ones on the cast page...
incidentally, i cruised over to the gallery and found out there is not one. maybe all the old and new cast pictures could be put in as the first pictures? just a suggestion.

And I don't know. Maybe it was just my mood as I drew them if they look different.

And maybe, I'm not sure. I've got a few doodles to put in there. I just have to, y'know, do it. :)

Sandra darling, the facial expressions in this strip bring me much joy. Much much joy. Especially Fatima's expressions of horror and of shock and of repressed rage (I assume) in the final panel. Woo!

Also, for some odd reason I keep squeeing over Collin and Kailen's hair. It's so little boyish! Vunderbar!

Tis annoying, cause I miss the boat. Meh. I'll stop being wierd now. Damn, Fatima is exactly like I was at that age!

I like Nefertari's ways of...persuasion? No...that's not what I mean. Meh. I'm too tired to think of what I actually mean right now.

See you later!

i belive the word you're looking for is "manipulation." nefi played fatima like a well-tuned violin...brava, mrs. maharassa. first appealing to fatima's sense of maturity, then her ego, and, knowing how her daughter would react, quickly using that reaction to ensnare poor young fatima into babysitting. i cannot say it enough: brava, madam!

i thank the high heavens that the best my own mother can do as regards manipulation is bribe me. *grins*

omfg, I'd love to have a boy like Kailen; he'd more than amuse the neighbors being so adorable with so little effort... and who'd ever thought that such a sweet-looking Collin would become who he is today? Life is full of miracles.

As for Fatima, I admire her; I don't think I'd have the mental strength to stand such observant kids. Her remarks and facial expressions are priceless. :)

Love that you put the print of Hera and Argos in there. I've always been fond of that myth, fro some reason.

And, the real reason I commented. OMG, the cute. Collin and Fox as kids are too adorable, and I love their total lack of tact. <3
