| Friday the 13th - Killer Cut |
[14 Jun 2009|02:20am] |

Friday the 13th - Killer Cut is out on DVD this week!
Lookin' at BestBuy.com, and it says they'll have it Tuesday for $16.99, plus tax.
Anyone know what all will be added to the movie? Special features? Commentaries?
I went to a free advanced screenin', in costume, for this, so I'm lookin' forward to the DVD!

| Jason Podcast |
[27 Dec 2008|12:45pm] |
In the first installment of our slasher marathons, we had an hour long discussion about every film in the Jason franchise on our podcast Double Feature. You can subscribe in iTunes to get the episode.

In what we call one of our "Killapalooza" episodes (don't shoot, we're from Chicago, we had to) we literally hit each film. Jason goes to camp, jason goes to NY, jason even goes to space. You'll be surprised to hear which is our favorite.
Topics: Friday the 13th films 1-10. The longest, most explicit slasher episode yet. Retroactive twist. Fixing a long running problem through exploitation. Recaping in a sequel. 3-D. Showing off. Slasher staples. Tits. Found: Hampster Style. Another use of Scooby Doo. The Twist. The Prankster! Self aware. Titular skepticism. Fixing a train wreck while maintaining continuity. Retroactive continuity. Accepting a power. Even Jason can jump the shark. Music stops. Eric derails Michael. Believe it or not: a case that necessitates gratuitous nipples to preserving artistic integrity.
Send us feedback and let us know what you think.
Also, there's definitly Nightmare on Elm Street and Freddy vs Jason episodes too.

| Pardon the Interruption... |
[08 Dec 2008|04:26pm] |
Hello there! Hope you don’t mind us butting in for a moment with some shameless promotion.
First let us introduce ourselves… We are Gary and Erin Slasher, of Hor-RIFF-ic Productions, the goriest couple in movie riffing to date. If you are not familiar with movie riffing… think Mystery Science Theater 3000. We’ve started our own line of Horror-themed iRiffs over at Rifftrax.
A little bit about us… He’s your typical cleaver wielding psychopath and she’s a brain devouring zombie with a heart of gold. Having failed to make it in the horror movie biz ourselves we’ve set out to do the next best thing -- cut our successful colleagues to ribbons with sharp tongues and razor-like wit! No horror movie is safe. It’s going to be a bloodbath!
We thought all you Horror fans would be interested in checking out our first victim… Friday the 13th.

I found this on another forum, but it's been just announced that Nana Visitor (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) has been cast as Pamela Voorhees in the new 2009 Friday the 13th remake/retcon/whatever they're calling it lately.
Here's the link: (Possible & Probable spoilers ahead...You are warned...)

I could see it. Not a bad choice for a young Mrs. Voorhees, y'think? Other casting & a FAQ for the new movie on IMDB is here: (Spoilers ahead here as well...)

Not sure if any of you in the LJ community were part of the Friday the 13th Forum, but it was completely destroyed when our server people somehow deleted everything and all the backups. So, no more F13 Forum.

| Cast member dies |
[25 May 2007|05:49pm] |

Laurie Bartram who played Brenda in the original Friday the 13th passed away today (May 25th) from cancer.
There is a memorial thread set up for her on the Friday the 13th Forum if you want to pass along your condolences to her family.
This is really sad, she was fairly young and had five kids. So tragic. :(
