That's right, exactly 2 years ago I uploaded my first show about French hip-hop and rap in particular. Sound quality was horrendous, I had no idea where it would take me, but I'm glad I kept doing it and haven't missed a monthly show in 2 years' time.
A big thank you to Yo La La! listeners and a big welcome to anyone who may be interested in "le 'ip-'op".
The last two shows are about French female rappers (classics and rookies) and the next one will be about French rappers' coverage of the upcoming presidential election.

Oxmo Puccino is a great lyricist and has a fine taste in French music: he did an amazing cover of Jacques Brel's "Ces gens là".

Hey everyone,
I am trying to get ahold of the theme from Francois Truffaut's Les 400 Coups. The only place I have been able to find it is on amazon.com as an expensive compilation of soundtrack snippets from the Adventures of Antoine Doinel series. Ive also searched by the composer, Jean Constantin, and come up empty handed. So, if any of you out there has the soundtrack for Les 400 Coups and would be willing to share the theme/prologue music, I'd be most appreciative.

* "Hijo de Latino" is from Sens Unik?'s "Panorama" album.
* "Mina Hundar" is from Fattaru's "Fatta Held" album
* "537 C.U.B.A." and "Orishas Llego" are from Orishas?'s first album, "A Lo Cubano".
* "Le P.I.M.P. en rose", by yours truly, is a mashup of 50cent's PIMP, Grace Jone's cover of Edith Piaf's "La vie en rose", with an intro of the original and speaksinging by Marlene Dietrich.

Howdy,
I host a french punk radio show in Ottawa, Ontario in Canada on CHUO 89.1 FM (or on the internet: www.chuo.fm). Anyways, I've started an lj for the show where I plan on posting playlists, announcements concerning the university of Ottawa (that's where the station is located) and other little tid bits of information relating to french punk, activism and the Ottawa area. They gave a concert here in moscow and i thought it was great=))
So do you know by any chance where i can get their tracks? it doesn't look like you can buy a cd in russia and ordering them from france doesn't sound that easy...

I was introduced to youtube.com today, and was very pleasantly surprised! While the website did have its expected share of your various people off the street getting naked and suchlike, it also contains a rather impressive classic music video selection! I was introduced to Marc Bolan (not applicable here, I know) and to the French singer Michel Polnareff, back in his earlier, adorable days; and of course one of my long-time favourites- Jane Birkin. I felt like such a stalker, but she's really too beautiful in the video for Je T'Aime Moi Non Plus... Anyway- here are some untutored, but affectionate collages from the screen clips. Awww, they were so great together.
