The layout entry explained

  • Oct. 22nd, 2004 at 7:40 PM
Style: This is the style you will have to choose on your modify/journal page in order for the layout to look the same as the example.
Website: This tells you weather or not you will need a website listed in your userinfo. Some overrides require that you have one. If you aren't sure, go here and see if you have something listed in the "webpage url" box.
Custom Colors: If the layout needs custom colors in order to look the same as the example, this will be a yes. You must tick the custom colors circle on your modify/journal page and enter the colors that are provided at the end of the layout entry page.
Default Icon: Some layouts do not look good with your usericon showing. This will tell you if it's better left off. If that is the case, you can go here and change your settings to "no default picture".
Best view: This will tell you what screen resolution the layout works best on. If you don't know what your screen resolution is, you can find out. On a PC, hit the start button/settings/controlpanel/display/settings and it should show you what your resolution is.

Downloading a .zip file

Some members (myself included) prefer to put everything you need in a .zip file and post it as a download instead of writing out the overrides. Opening a .zip file is easy as long as you have an unzip utility. Most computers are already equipped with an unzip utility. If your computer doesn't have one installed already, you can download Winace for free.

1. Click link
2. Choose "Save" (if you save it in your desktop it will be easier to locate later!)
3. Find saved file
4. Right click
5. Choose "Extract All"
6. Open the extracted folder and you will find all the images and overrides for the layout.
