This week's theme was: One Image.
For those of you not familiar with this theme: The Judges provide an image, which can be found here. The contestants can only use that image (the only exception is having a background image). So it's your job to vote for who represented the image best!

For those of you that don't know what it means, simply do a Google Search. But for the most part it means helping the environment. Using reusable bags, walking/biking instead of driving, doing stuff to save energy, etc. Read a few things about it and you will get it. :) Now on to the poll!

We are extending the deadline for auditions once again.
You have one more week again. The new deadline is October 25th. We look forward to more entries.
You have one more week again. The new deadline is October 25th. We look forward to more entries.
We're extending the audition deadline a week. You now have until October 18th. Still no need to wait just drop on over at
lls_auditions and make a post with your layout! Its a really fun and interesting contest and a great way to earn a years paid account if you win :)
This is the the last reminder to turn in your submissions for
lls_auditions. If we get at least one submission by Friday we will extend the submission intake a week or two. If not we will cancel the contest and the people who donated will receive a refund.
This contest is really fun. I swear. You learn so much and you don't even have to have years of experience. The judges help you learn new things and we even help you with coding issues. Don't be afraid to try out! You will seriously surprise yourself with how far you get. I know I always did. It doesn't matter if it's your first attempt at layouts or you have experience, you will learn something. Just join
lls_auditions and submit a layout. You won't regret it.
So again this is the last chance to revive this awesome contest and get a chance to win a free year's paid account on LJ.

Here are the contestants for the Idea Tree Studio guest designer contest. Take a look at the work that they do, and then vote for your favorite designer. Voting ends Sunday.
EDIT AGAIN Ok, you guys. I totally FAIL at this contest. I accidentaly missed a bunch of contestants. I am going to repost this whole thing in a new entry.

Hey guys! We've had a BUNCH more entries for the Idea Tree Studio guest designer contest. Thank you to everyone for contributing! We plan on starting the vote on Wednesday and running it through Saturday, so if there are any last minute layouts you would like to submit, now is the time to do it!
In regards to the Idea Tree Studio guest designer contest - are there any more entries? So far we only have a couple of people interested. If that is the case, I may just put them up as guest designers without voting :( That makes me sad because voting is always fun!
So, if you want to enter but the deadline was too short just let me know when you can have something in. Remember, you guys CAN use old layouts that you've made, too!

I mentioned it before and now the time is here! Our first ever layout contest for Idea Tree Studio (the collaborative site for
freelayouts and
premade_ljs).
To make things fun, we decided to make a contest where all the members of both communities get to pick the winners. Idea Tree Studio is a joint collaboration between myself and
tasha of
premade_ljs, so to keep things from being redundant, we will have the contest held here at
freelayouts (since we have so many talented creators) and hold the voting at her community on a public vote. (She will also encourage people to be entering from her community so watch out, there may be some more compeitition!)
The rules break down like this:
1. You have one week to submit up to FIVE layouts. (You CAN use old layouts of yours if you would like to.) We would like the people voting to see a few different sides to your talent. If you can only submit one though that's fine. Just submit the link(s) in a comment to this post, or as an entry in the community. (Make sure we know it's for the contest if you post in the community!)
2. You can enter myspace layouts or website templates, too, if LiveJournal isn't your area of expertise.
3. All designs must be live, working previews.
4. At the end of the week, Tasha will post a public post with a poll of all the contestants and their entries.
5. Voting will be open for everyone!
6. At the end of the voting, the top 5 will create zip files for downloads of the layouts they entered, (images, instructions, codes) and a preview. We will upload them to the website on the downloads page.
7. You will be featured in our newsletter along with the other winners. You can include a short bio or just a website or community of yours.
8. You will ALSO be featured in our sidebar as a guest designer. Again, you can have a short bio or link to your site. (We get plenty of traffic so you should see an increase in yours as well!)
9. All Designers may submit more layouts after winning the contest if they should like to do so. Otherwise, however many you entered in the contest is enough.
So - get going! What are you waiting for?!
