writerlance
have any freelance writers here ever used writerlance?

if so, what can you tell us about your experience with it?

I've never used that particular site, but I have used eLance, which works on the same premise (guru.com is another site that lets service providers bid on projects). Expect most buyers to choose the second-cheapest bidders. I doubt that most of the service providers earn a living from writing (or if they do, they live in a country with a low cost of living, like India), but it could be useful for side projects or experience.

I sorta agree.

Luke's basically right, but as a frequent buyer of stuff on elance and whatnot, the real trick is in finding a good client. true, some will always go back to the bidders, but I've got a small stable of people, and while I could pay less... since they work quickly and cheaply, why bother screwing around?

I completed a number of projects for clients on writerlance but when i requested payment they failed to send it after sending several emails (the only way to contact them)they have failed to reply. I still have not been paid months later and have since heard many similar stories from ex writers for freelance, any who try to take action against them to get their money have had their accounts disappear.
